I won a raffle, but I didnt get the prizeWas it fair?
So, there is an event on my campus, where you pay for $5 to get in, and if you went to the event your name automatically gets put into a raffle to win big prizes. When you fill out the ticket, the usher asks you to put your cellnumber and school ID to use to contact you in case you were not present. The event was not an awareness event, it was just for fun. The raffle was meant to encourage people to attend the event. Long story short, I won beats headphone from the raffle, but since I'm a CADET in training (my college is in a city) I have to leave early for work and since I wasn't present I didn't get the prize and it was given to someone else. Do you think this was fair? No where in the flyers did it say that people have to stay for the ENTIRE event in order to claim their prize, and it was a "last moment" decision by the club to give it to someone else. I felt like someone pulled the rug under me, and I feel cheated. I still participated and payed money to go this event, and I felt like it was my right to claim my prize since I still helped spread the word. Do you think it's fair that I lost the headphone, or not fair at all?

The headmaster of the organization?
Probably the guy that made the "last moment" decision.

If that is true and you did put your info, then they were supposed to contact you.
I think you did get cheated.
Either get your $5 back, or bug the hell out of them.
I sure would be hella angry if they just did that.

You should ask for your $5 back
That's what I said! I complained to the organization about the situation but they told me there is nothing I can do about it since I was not present. They said it was a decision made by the club as a whole, but to me this doesn't make sense logically.
That's so stupid lol. Well, idk if there is anything you can do since it was like a small event. Still, you deserved it though and it was messed up how they decided that when their own policy of putting cell and ID on the card contradicted their own actions.
you can raise hell on the event people and maybe they'll ship you a pair. By all regular standards, you deserved the headphones if they did not tell you that you have to be present for the prize. That's them being lazy and cheating out on their own responsibility.
Giving them a little smack, the threat of bad press and get them headphones.
Well if you did fill out the ticket with your cell phone and ID in case you were missing then you definitely deserved it. I mean, the whole purpose to put your cellphone and ID is to give it to you if your not there at another time right, why would they give it to someone else?
Even if they do suck/not worth their normal price, for $5, definitely usable and you should have won it.
