You should be a feminist

Feminism definitions from 4 different dictionaries:
"the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes."

"the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities"

"the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men."

"Belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes."

Sexism:
"unfair treatment of people because of their sex; especially : unfair treatment of women"

It's a simple dichotomy, either you're for equality or not.

Tell me what you are in the poll.

Feminists: Sexist women who think they are better than men.

I agree with feminism. There are areas women need more respect in. I just don't like when feminists over victimize themselves. The way society views and treats men could be improved too.

I'd like feminism if the definition was
"the advocacy of BOTH men's AND women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes."

The reason why I do not associate myself with feminist movements:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminism#Men_and_masculinity

What I do support:

there are girls around the world that can't even show their face in public, are shot in the head for wanting to get an education, are used for bartering, and a wage gap even when u get rid of confounding factors such as maternity leave and ability
and there are ppl against feminism imagining weird anime tsundere girls hitting them all the time and then smugly cackling as they "gets away it", sorry girls dont really go around just hitting ppl willy nilly and u really shouldn't be reciprocating advances to fight, male or female unless ur life depends on it

If it isn't equal rights-- i.e. equal amount of power, then it isn't a feminist. Per definition.
Maybe equal in some things but women will never be equal to a man's strength and leadership. That's why it is"the man of the house" not woman of the house.
Oh and ofc women will never be able to pierce through objects and put it deep inside.
Feminism mainly concerns political, economic & social equality. While statistically fewer women might have some charecteristics in order to fulfill x job, the equality part is that those few women who are competent, should have equal opportunity to obtain the job.

However, the 'man in the house' seems more cultural than actually based on factual superiority.
If having seperate restrooms for different races is racist, then having seperate restrooms for opposite genders is sexist.
Some are actually preferring and proposing unisex bathrooms. Or at least all 3, so people have choices.

Like my first response, if it's not equality, it's not feminism. No feminist would advocate extra attention or denegration for hitting a girl, over an equivalent boy. With that said, society tend to look down upon violence and abuse, and especially when there's a difference in strength. Whether that be a pumped up guy from the gym abusing a little nerdy guy, or a girl, should both be frowned upon.

I want a world in which I can smack a woman by self-defense and not get berated by society.
