What do I do now?

I discovered that my damage range on my Mercedes isn't as high as I'd like it to be (17k fully buffed w/ ancient warding 10, and ignis roar 20, if you're wondering). I was told that if I get the Empress set, I can greatly increase my damage. But the problem is, I'm completely STR-less, and with all my str adding equips, it only goes up to 87, which is about half of what is needed for the empress archer equips. My question is: should i keep investing money on my mercedes to boost my damage range, or should I just spend some money on %luk equips for my future phantom?
