A Ghost from the Past

Hey Basil, been a while. Hope y'all doing well.

I'm finishing my junior year pretty strongly, got a whole bunch of stories I would love to share, but for now I'll just give you this little one.

I've been dating this girl for 2 and a half months now. She's cute, she's Asian, and she's from Brooklyn -- the trifecta.

We got to talking early in the relationship about what we did in high school, as we were both kind of losers. She mentioned she used to play MapleStory, right? So I was like, "Oh man, MapleStory -- that was my thing in high school." I asked her if she knew what Basilmarket was. She said she did. I asked her if she ever posted on the forums, and she said no. And then she asked me if I ever did, and I laughed to myself.

I remembered how I basically kept a journal on this forum throughout my life and it was kind of funny. I told her all about how I would post everything that happened to me and how I was sort of an icon on the forum.

Against my better judgment, I told her my Basil ID and she started reading all the threads. She was taking them way more seriously than they were supposed to be so it was looking pretty bad. But then I told her none of it was supposed to be taken seriously, and then she dropped it after that night.

Never again.
