Learn from me- Dont drop trade
I lost my [b]25 ATK Raccoon Mask [/b] while drop trading, since I was too insecure about having someone steal it when asking for a transfer, and I couldn't have used a second computer at the time.
While logging into the account I wanted to pickup in, maple crashed, and by the time I was able to get back on, the item was gone forever
QQ Lost most hope at playing maple.
Protip: Don't drop trade

Actually lost my Revolution spear I've been working on that way,
I wanted to drop trade it to another account for the safety/prot scrolls, in a spot i always do this, when I logged to the account it wasn't there after 20 seconds, not sure if someone was there or twas a bug, but either way i almost rage quit cause it was a huge boost for me since i don't have much funds, but oh well, poop happens, right?
At everyone who's saying it's duped. It might be, I don't know, I got it over a year ago (I don't even remember how!) and the account was lost, as I forgot the email/username. Got it back today thanks to Nexon's fairly swift customer support.

Drop trade is safe. It's just that duped items disappear when dropped.

i find all duped equips to have a value of 0
