Starforce Failure Keep Chance?

How do the Star force enhancements work? What does the stupid little mini-game bar have to do with it? I guess I should aim for the center to stop it there?
Is there any chance that my weapon will be destroyed? Does the failure keep chance just mean I lose money, or does this mean that if it fails, I have that chance to not blow up my item? I have a pretty decent staff, but I don't wanna risk it blowing up. Is there some sort of table to tell me exactly what this does?
I'm guessing that the equipment trace doesn't include nebulites or potential?
Nah it includes everything BUT stars. Nebulites are included.

@MeMagicalPie : Boom rate begins at 12-13. Its no boom chance up until the 12th star.

So if I have 11 and I want to go to 12, is it boom-able?
or does it start getting boomable from 11-12

@RobCorso It includes potential, not sure about nebulites tho as kms doesn't have those. It's worth pointing out that this system only applies when using the star force ui. If you try to use an equip enhancement scroll, it will still destroy your item upon failure and you won't get an equipment trace if it booms from the scrolls instead of star force. Some people have made that mistake without reading up on star force first.
When you fail an enhancement, you lose a star. The exceptions for this are when you are at 5 or 10 stars, those are like checkpoints and you can't drop below those. After your 12th enhancement, your item gains a destruction rate that is really low. So if you fail you either have a chance of losing a star or having your item destroyed. If it gets destroyed you get an Equipment Trace which will transfer all of the stats of your destroyed item without any exceptions to a clean version of the item.

Read the patch notes or if too lazy to do that just read the description in the star force window. It tells you right there what the chances to succeed, fail, or destroy rate. The question i will answer for you is yes you are suppose to aim for the middle of the mini game. It gives a slight increase in success rate. Idk how big the success rate is though.
Everything is written in the little Star Force window.

http://puu(.)sh/dlaPw/6c28ec183b.jpg (remove the parenthesis)

Success rate (going from 13 stars to 14) is 30%
Chance to DROP down a rank ((going from 13 to 12) ) is 68.6%
Chance to BLOW up the item (13 stars to 0 stars+trace) is 1.4%
