Tips on telecasting?

I wanna learn how to telecast like this person D:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6zaKR2Kx4g&NR=1
My telecasting is decent, and I dodgme most spells. I get hit about 40 times per hour, but this guy didnt get hit once in his entire video. Can anyone give me tips on tele/jump casting?

@RichyRetard: I know whats he's talking about but sometimes, rarely, telecasting UP helps you to dodge stuff. I don't know why, but It does. o_0

Telecasting is easy... the reason the guy in the video barely took any damage is that he timed his teleport to get out of the way of incoming attacks. If you want to be able to do the same, you need to practice.

Still, Telecasting on it's own is a piece of cake. Cast your attack spell and teleport immediately afterwards in the direction you want. Of course, thanks to Teleport Mastery, you can now damage enemies whenever you teleport near them as well.

From personal experience, I find that direct attack spells (Magic Claw, Cold Beam, Chain Lighting, etc) are easier to telecast with than AoE attack spells (Ice Strike, Shining Ray, etc.)... but that's not to say it's impossible either... or even all that much more difficult.

Now, the guy in the video was mostly using telecasting as a defensive strategy, but there is another way to use it that would have had him take more damage, but also kill much faster. That strategy is to get up close to the boss and telecast straight upwards. It sounds wierd to do, but since Teleport Mastery damages enemies near to where you appear from the Teleport, it's possible to telecast straight up with your attack almost effectively doubling your damage output.

I've only telecasted on my Evan when using Fire Circle, but I have plenty of experience from my Battle Mage. I've never used telecasting for defensive/evasive purposes, I generally only used telecasting to speed up my movement when training. Because of my control with telecasting my Battle Mage was able to have more agility and speed than my Shadower, you can cover an entire map rather quickly

use skill, press backwards and tele while ur casting and the spell will be casted where you were.
Example: shoot fire arrow and tele infront the arrow will shoot from behind ur character.

Issue with Lyka is that the range of the seduce attack is still a fair amount longer than the range of either AMs main attack skill. It also doesn't have a 100% success rate (although it's high), so it may seem as if it can be avoided by Teleport seamlessly.

OT: Press skill, teleport + direction while the animation is in progress. Repetition allows you to get accustomed to the different delays of your skills. Telecasting is paramount to soloing Bodyguard A without getting excessively stunned into oblivion as an I/L at least due to the directional nature of CL.
I tele across monsters because of tele mastery and its easier to avoid their magic by knowing their range. I did this on slimy's, bu I was raelly refering to being able to attack and not get hit. I don't think he missed a single attack frame. Is lyka's range just small?
Yep, Lyka's range is small. It has only 1 magical attack that hits you for 100%, but that's from a very close range. The others are the rocks falling from above, but they're completely random and you can avoid them if you look at where they land. Also, if you're stronger, you'll kill the monster faster, giving it less time to hit you. So that also has a certain factor in his movie. Even so, I did notice that he teleported quite fluently. Years of tapping the teleport button can give you this, but it can also just be fast fingers, like I mentioned earlier.

Long story short, just stay out of the range of Lyka for as long as you can. This is also possible to do at Griffey and Manon. Their ranges are a bit bigger, but if you teleport out of their range, which in this case is your range as well..., you can solo them without being hit once. I'm able to get past these two in a Dojo PQ as well by using this method.
Telecasting like that? It's not too hard. :o It used to be done a lot back when FP's needed to train at Death Teddies with Fire Arrow. They used projectiles as magic attack so we used to teleport back and forth like this to avoid getting hit even once. :o Just takes a bit of practice, or someone with fast fingers can learn it really quickly.

Whenever you cast a spell, right after that, teleport in the opposite direction. This makes you teleport backwards, seeing how you cant change the way you're facing in a attack. And teleport right back after you're ready to cast again. Just Attack -> teleport, Attack <- Teleport. Arrow shows in which direction to teleport.. Just make sure you're able to hit the monster when you're way back. You also need to make sure you keep hitting them, because if you keep KB-ing the monster backwards, it wont go forward much. You can either walk a bit forward again or let him come to you. Either way works.

Also, it's all about timing. He knows when to teleport backwards, to prevent the boss monster/monsters from casting magic. Every monster has a certain range they can attack at, if they cant reach it, they'll move towards that position untill they can. Use this to your advantage. The person in the video did this as well, Lyka's attack range isn't really far so its one of the easier monsters to practice this against. Make sure you can take a hit or two when practicing though. ;P

I also use this method to kill monsters in LHC, Bearwolves for example. I charge Big Bang, walk forward, cast Big Bang (This is when they start to attack) Teleport backwards, out of their range. Rinse and repeat. You can practice it there too, since it takes a lot of time to kill one as well. ;P But seeing how your character is still somewhere near the level 100, I think you should find some other monsters. Maybe Phantom Watches? Them being Strong to Ice makes it take a few more hits to kill them, so you'll have all the time you need to practice it.
Also, if you still think you want to practice this at later levels, I suggest Skelegons. Being surrounded and aimed at by multiple Monsters really helps you become agile.

Good Luck~

@Icywolf: Can't do it with faster attacks tho, since Big bang and glacial chain are quite 'slow'. but it's all about control i think
pretty sure u can tele backwards with cl... O_O You can with coldbeam, but then again cl is faster.
@Hee4ever: its easy once u get used to mages teleport lol
OT: lol id be able to do this too, if i had freaking glacial chains and a multi hit CL
I think you can cast gc while jumping O_O
Also, Multi hit cl is amazing, too, but that has nothing to do with telecasting atm. I want cl so badly </3
I also don't understand how people teleport backwards, or it's just very fast
when you use a skill, you are stuck in that direction until u finish casting. Tele in teh opposite direction and u wont turn b4 that.
