Problem with internet speed

Hey everyone!
My friend uses a 100Mbps internet speed connection, but for some reason unknown to anyone, his speed becomes 0.1Mbps after a certain hour of the day. He tried to disconnect his internet for about 2 hours and then reconnect but it didn't seem to help at all. what could be the cause for the problem? anyone that knows this stuff and want to help; please do.

I doubt that 100Mbps and 0.1 Mbps are the real internet speeds, but rather the speed to the home network reported by the LAN/WLAN adapter.

Your friend needs to verify if his actual bandwidth is close to his provisioned bandwidth - the speed he is paying for.

Use the Speedtest.net tool first.

Then if necessary (it probably isn't), convert the speed to the unit used by the service provider. Mega bits per second (Mbps) is not the same as Megabytes per second (MBps). The difference in capitalization between Mbps and MBps is important.

If your friend really does have a problem, then more information is needed to troubleshoot to determine possible causes. Your post provides no useful information and it would be beneficial to include the name of the company providing the service, the actual up / down speeds, the provisioned up / down speeds, and how many people / devices are sharing the internet at home. If your friend has a problem with poor wireless connectivity, then it would be good to know the router brand and model as well as the layout of the house.

Could be a bad router, people using his wifi, too much internet traffic due to peak hours, malware on his pc, or something else. I'd suggest your friend go call his ISP and complain about it.
