Am I the only one seriously pissed about the Kitchen event?
Look at how much everything costs. Basic items are like 200 coins to creaft EACH and you need at least 2 of them to make low level stuff, which means at least 400 coins per item. This is insane. The drop rate of coins is ridiculously low to afford such prices. How am I supposed to enjoy this grind fest? Am I doing something wrong, hunting the wrong monsters?

Farm 400 coins, or spend 3.5k nx on auto buff for pet. I'd much rather farm 400 coins. I don't see an issue with the event, as it's not forcing it upon you. Although I will say you probably will regret not getting some free pets/pet skills off this event...
and dipq is only for 140+ so people who can't yet do dipq are pretty much screwed over for the amount of coins needed.
from what i remember, some of the quests needed to upgrade the kitchen is pretty ridiculous to the point that only funded high levels will actually enjoy the event.
goes to show how much Nexon cares about new players.
The majority of their events are targeted at newer players. With that being said, 400 coins for a pet is still really good for a new player. But this event also offers more rewarding options for those veterans with a lot of drop rate equips.
for those who spend real life money in this game and hours on end with decent gears to be able to train in higher level grounds for faster exp, then sure
but for the average joe who only spends an hour or two on weekends (and is f2p), then no it doesn't take a day. but i guess it's hard to imagine for those who already have a level 200 kanna and bishop mules to leech their characters...
I never use a kanna or bishop. Just toss some link skills on it, wait for 2x events, play a bit of star planet to get more 2x, it can be done in like 6ish hours

I've always thought grindy events like these were stupid, too, so I agree with you on that count. That said, just because you can't spend more than an hour a week on this game doesn't mean the developers should streamline and dilute content any more than they already have. Now, don't get me wrong. With how bad the game's become, I barely sign in anymore, so I'm not judging anyone who doesn't want to play more than an hour or two on weekends. But this game used to have so much more cool stuff in it. Continents were bigger, character classes were complex and creative with multiple skill branches one could follow, etc., until the developers stripped all of that down to make the game more accessible for people who couldn't play more than an hour or two on weekends. To say that nexon doesn't care about new players is simply not true. One could make the argument that nexon only cares about their newer players -- or, at least, they did before I quit.
I'd go on and on about how things used to be different, but nobody wants to read that. tldr nexon cares so much about making this game inviting to new and casual players that they were willing to ruin their game to please that demographic. We used to joke and say "a sucker is born every minute" in reference to nexon's business model, which seemed bent on luring in new people with how easy the game is at early levels, getting them to 160 very quickly, and then hoping they would spend money when they hit the inevitable pay-wall. That's literally how the game was before I stopped signing in. It was all bent on getting you to 160 in, like, a week, and then gambling on you spending money to overcome the pay-wall instead of just quitting. That number's probably gotten higher since 250 is the new cap, so getting to 140 really shouldn't be a huge issue. Just do like that other guy said and spam party quests for a couple of hours on the weekend and you'll probably get there in no time, assuming the game's not too dead for PQs to be viable anymore. Otherwise, just try not to worry about it. Power creep is a huge issue in this game, and whatever cool stuff you're worried about missing out on will probably just be obsolete in a couple of weeks anyway.
As a person who doesn't like spending money on micro transactions, this is an awesome event. Sure I'll take some time out of my 24 hour day to get something that'll last forever and I'm not complaining one bit about the drops. I got 400 coins in 1 hour on a FREE 2x drop the game gave me.
I like how most of the people complaining are people who aren't willing to spend as much time and effort into the event. Nothing in life is given without any effort, not even in videogames. Get used to it.

Not really, 1-70 is really fast and might take 3 hours or so, then just grind on rnj till 140
Lv 140 takes a day to get to... So that's not a valid excuse
i like how pretty much all the people in this thread who likes the event the way it is now are funded levels 190+ (mostly 200+).
literally free stuff that isn't on a silver platter and people still complain..
it's not even about how funded you are; dipq for coins on 2x and you get 150 per run; i agree that they should lower cubes to at least 1k but not to the point where you can farm 5 a day lmao
it took me 45 minutes to be able to craft all 3 pets and the auto HP...this event is awesome
It's to deter you from making them so you'll end up spending your money on nx, mwahahahaha
before the patch, the drop rate was insanely high (i got a few thousand coins in less than an hour) and it only took 5000 coins to make a black cube. now it's 20,000 for a black cube and drop rate is considerably lower. ty nexon
meanwhile, 2x drop rate card is advertised as "hot sell" in the cash shop

I like my orange... only took me 2 hours to get on 2x drop!
I don't know why everyone is complaining about free stuff...just put a bit of work into it. You can get ALL the pet skills from this event, which is already pretty awesome.
another thing if you craft a pet skill you have to wait 19 days to craft another one
the easy way to farm coins is in dimensional pq i get 60-70 coins per run
the only thing really worth it is the pet skills since they last forever when given to the pet
It's one of those events where you'll have to work to get what you want.
We take advantage of having things either handed to us, or easily worked for.
So now it's Nexon's way of saying "You want it? Go earn it." -insert an evil muhahaha face- o.o
I've got to agree with OP on this one.
The difficulty and amount of work required for this event seems like an antithesis to their "A better Maple" initiative.
20,000+ coins for one Black Cube? That's just unreasonable.
And just look at all the people afk-ing for Elite bosses at Ch 1 Drakes in Sleepywood. Ridiculous.
Then. Dont. Do. It.
I just checked an I have 3000 coins just from doing DiPQ... Its just another way of getting those items if you dont wanna spend money but instead want to work for it
Well the point of events is to keep you logged on longer so you're more likely to buy nx and not so you can have fun with new content so....

Don't participate at all then if it infuriates you.
If you won't take the time, then don't.
