Solution to the manual Hackshield update issue

EDIT: This is only a possible solution, your situation could be completely different.

A lot of people broke their games while attempting to manual patch, and I'm about to tell you how to hopefully fix it.
This instructions on the website are slightly incorrect.

9) Extract the files of HShield_v119.zip into your HackShield folder

Instead of extracting the patch into your HShield folder, extract it directly into your Maplestory Folder. Otherwise, the extraction will make a Hshield inside your Hshield, which is not right.
should i do this even when maple isnt down for maintenance?
Maplestory was down for maintenance before, and they reposted the manual hackshield update afterwards. If your game is working properly now, don't do anything.
do you guys get a hackshield error or you've been disconnected from the game?
This solution was meant to solve the Hackshield error problem. Unfortunately, it seems it doesn't work for most people.

Anybody else here getting Error 0x00010501? For some stupid reason, Nexon thinks I'm running hacks >_>
By this, do you mean to extract directly to the Maplestory folder, without deleting the previous HShield files?
Delete the previous files.
Yea I guess this is helpful to some people... however it doesn't help those of us still DCing after 2 minutes.
*sad face*
This is for the people who get the hackshield 0X00003... whatever error upon starting maplestory, not for those with dc problems. If you have dc problems, play it on xp and you'll be fine.
Does this work for you saiph?
Look inside your Hshield folder. If there is another Hshield folder in there, then that is what's wrong.
They told us the delete the files in the Maplestory HShield then put in the files from the new one, not the actual folder. fail thread.
They said 9) Extract the files of HShield_v119.zip into your HackShield folder. The problem is extracting this zip file will create a Hshield folder inside your Hshield Folder if you extract to your Hshield Folder. I didn't say that you didn't have to delete the files already there.
