I think it really depends on your funding. 2H + Rosary would give more damage early game. However end game, unless you have money to cube and pot a perfect rosary, (No rosary sold on my server) it's better to go 1H + shield. It's very expensive to make your own rosary. Also a shield would most likely sell back out easier than a rosary.

If you have decent SI then you might as well go 2h. The 2h fafnir doesn't have to be the same attack to get more out of it, and if you were to scroll the 1h sword and the 2h sword the exact same, the 2h+rosary would give you more damage in the end.
I currently have a clean Gold Kalkan with: 20% boss 15% ignore def 3% att
I'm saving enough meso to perfect the shield with att as well as perfecting a 1h emp sword or maybe a fafnir 1h sword any advice for my situation? Should i stick with the shield and 1h or switch to rosary and 2h?

Even with a perfected shield, 2h+ rosario is going to beat 1h+shield due to weapon multiplier. But it depends on the attack speed as well so the case is different on certain weapons.

I'm doing 1H sword w/ shield right now. Currently scrolling the shield w/ occult armor scroll 90% then all ICoGs.
the attack speed does matter, but 2H still wins
