Whens The Bmw i8 Coming
I saw a video on this car a few years ago, and it was supposed to be released in 2013, but when found the website today, it was still a concept.
Here's the link to the website of the car: http://www.bmw-i.com/en_ww/bmw-i8/
(Yes, it's electric but it looks like it's completely worth the money!)

I really don't think BMW is going to make them. I am pretty sure it is going to be expensive (I guess it would be around 50~80k). Someone who are willing to pay that king of money will not buy an electric car. It is fine being a concept and show it off, but I don't think BMW is stupid enough to put it into production.
Hmm interesting. So it's being marketed as an electric sports car? The specs are actually really impressive for an electric vehicle. I'd love to get my hands on one of these eventually.
@DrHye:
Well they are tailoring it to a niche market, people who want a supercar but still care about the environment / gas bills. So yeah, I would imagine that it would be a fairly limited release at least to start with.
Implying you can afford a brand new BMW.
@dimo Oh, thanks. I'd be surprised to see one of those on the road in the US...
I don't think that's an indicator. A lot of car companies make concepts but don't end up producing them. That doesn't mean they don't enjoy showing them off in major auto shows or things like that. For example, the Detroit Auto Show has a lot of concept cars from a lot of car companies, including Toyota and Cadillac concepts. They make one or just a few for shows, but don't end up releasing them to the public.
I mean, I don't really follow European companies that closely so I don't know if BMW does a lot more with concept cars than other companies.
There are very recent spy shots of the car being tested in winter conditions, suggesting they are prepping for a release.

Looking more forward to the NSX-II than this TBH.
Yes, that's why there is still a concept website made by BMW itself.
Yes, that's why there is still a concept website made by BMW itself.
Was there even any talk about actually producing this?
Dafaq is with the doors though.
Yeah, I figured that it would be traumatic for some people to feel so close to the road.
Dafaq is with the doors though.
Apparently in 2014 according to various car websites.
i find the blue kind of ugly. makes the car look like a shoe
