Whats with Nexons obsession with time limited items?
I understand but do not agree with cash shop items (Come on, make them permanent already. Oh KMS did it so GMS must just be preparing the update for it now..;D), But seriously, there seems to be an obsession on putting time limits on any items gained from events and some quests.
For instance the SP & AP scrolls in the tempest shop were 7 days, which is okay and now in this new Sengoku shop, the SP scrolls only last ONE DAY. You earned all those coins, at least make it longer or permanent. How about those EXP necklaces. Make those permanent, but increase the cost.
I got a Nox cherubim from that kanna surprise box thing which I opened in CS. You know that rush you get when you get something awesome from the premium box? Well I didn't get it because I KNEW, before I even place my cursor over the item, it wasn't permanent. And that just put me off wearing it or even having it in my inventory.
Ever since the trend started, I vowed never to don or purchase any 90 day crap because if you get attached to the look you have, and it's all 90 crap, you're probably going to buy it all again, and that's how THEY win even more than they already do.

@Sektec: " i looked so good in that, imma go buy one now."
lol
They're time limited because they know that you'll pay for it again in 3days/1week/3 months etc. It's called business and it keeps the game free to play but semi pay to win with gachapon stuff. Making something like an EXP necklace permanent makes the game severely P2W and even more broken then it already is.
EXP necklaces are bought from event shops. COINS FROM IN GAME. How the hell is that P2W? More like play to win, which it should be. & this game is already FULLY p2w so...
The thing that really surprised me was chairs that expire... thats just stupid. </3
Nexon's obsession with expired chairs... I feel bad for ppl who gachapon nowadays, what happened to having perm chairs?
OT: Though I very much agree with certain time limited items that you put your breaking back into..
You gotta remember the CS item was given to you for free (ofc its gonna expire). if anything, you can always buy the perm Nox in mesos o_O;
are you seriously complaining about free stuff? spoiled brat.
Spoiled brat? Really? You missed the entire point of the discussion.
are you seriously complaining about free stuff? spoiled brat.
I miss having a week to buy a perm version of the newest release of NX in the Cash Shop. Still mad at myself for missing the aviator glasses one
Just leave the SP scrolls in storage, then when you need them, take them out and use them really fast.
It works.
Its obviously not an obsession. By limiting the time, they push people to buy in bulk.
@iGooglespace: nope, you misunderstood what I said buddy. It wouldn't be the WAY it is right now if they didn't. OF COURSE they would be able to run maplestory without it. That's why the game is free, silly
I find it rare for Nexon to release perma NX
I remember getting them back when they offered it
That was awesome. WHY DONT THEY DO IT AGAIN. IT MADE ME BUY NX SO THERES A FRIGGIN BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR YA.
We can't have permanent stuff because we're not allowed to have nice things.
RAGEEEE >
and yeah was there any reason to make reverse equips untradeable after equip (even w/ no option of karma)
We can't have permanent stuff because we're not allowed to have nice things.
I completely agree. Although, it's just a marketing strategy obviously. Maplestory wouldn't be the way it is if they didn't market their Cash Shop like so because the game is already free.
nope I KNOW FOR A FACT that nexon would still be able to run maplestory without those cursed 90 days items...
only one word need be said
cubes
even though i dont support them ( making the rich super powerful and the poor super weak) they probably make 70% of their income from those alone
Don't forget nexon's obsession with untradable equips and untradable potions.
I am SO glad I got my perma nx outfit when nx stuff was perma. (it was a few years ago.. all of the clothing AND effects [i got those beautiful big wings perma] were perm for double the price.) It only lasted a few months though... I'm so glad I did it. I've vowed to never buy any nx clothing from the cs again.. it's worked out well so far for me. the only thing i buy is a regular shop.
i don't think i'll ever willingly buy a 90-day cs aesthetic thing (clothing, ring, etc.) ever again.
What is Nexon's obsession with banning legit players?
I only ever buy perma nx.
I agree with you 100%
I also agree.
I completely agree. Although, it's just a marketing strategy obviously. Maplestory wouldn't be the way it is if they didn't market their Cash Shop like so because the game is already free.
Time limited items may bug me
But the huuuuugest piss off for me is freaking new CS inventory for every character
Hugest.. Sir I think you meant to say largest.
Time limited items may bug me

Aaaaaamen to that.
Nexon does release permanent-versions of items periodically through events.

I agree with this 100% It's such bullcrap.
I prefer perma items. Not 90 day ones that I use as much anymore.
of course, they want players excited
how the hell is putting a time limit on an item excited? xD More of a let down to me
of course, they want players excited
I don't buy it on principle. Guess most don't share my view?
If you don't want to spend money every 90 days, then don't. There are millions of people who do though so in the end, Nexon wins and I see no reason why they would stop. Its still working for them.
If you don't like it, don't buy it.
tl;dr: Give him time to obtain all of it, like, 1 year.
