Need help making a study guide for friends
I have all the literary terms except for connotation. I can't seem to find ANY examples of it in "To Kill a Mockingbird"
Can someone post what they got and what page it was found on?
Oh wow.. I came into this thread thinking that maybe your friends were having a difficult time memorizing information in more theoretical-based courses. But then I realized that you were talking about English class
English is the hardest class...I notice only old ladies teach it..
Just make it up, literature studies don't really have right answers if you can argue for it.
Some suggestions could be
Candy
Hole in the Tree
School Dance
Stereotype of Black person
I don't see the connotation of those things. Maybe the black person stereotype when someone said that black people are after a white lady because they are divine, and later scout finds out that it was a white man that's dating a black woman instead. But does that really count as a connotation. It feels more like irony.
@fradddBS: I just asked because I first encountered connotation in middle school. If he doesn't know what it is by the end of middle school then The school system he was raised in failed.
