Miwok event guide

After several entries into the event ending in frustration because of people who had absolutely no idea what to do or who just plain do things inefficiently, I thought I'd set down a few techniques in hopes of one day seeing a gold bag.

First off, this is a cooperative event. Don't scramble to pick up the miwok boys before others, it won't give you anything more than personal satisfaction and actually slows things down. Let others pick up the boys and pick them up as you walk past to kill beasts. They won't disappear anytime soon.

Next, the layout. 99% of players will get this right off the bat so it's not a huge deal, but just in case I'd like to say that the best way to kill the beasts fast is to spread out and cover the map. There's no need for 4-5 people on the same platform, at most you'll have 3 and in the majority of cases just 2. This is so that everybody handles one or two spawn points at a time which means that all beasts will be killed roughly simultaneously, assuring a steady spawn. Don't move from your platform, it will just slow down the killing there. When the boss spawns, let those in the middle handle it, unless there's less than 30 seconds left and there is a cage in the map. If there's a cage in the map and there's less than 30 seconds, then everybody should go in the middle and get the key as fast as possible, since the cage will most likely drop more miwok boys than 30 seconds of beast kills. Between 30 seconds and 1min is also acceptable, but not preferable if the middle players are particularly strong. If there's more than 1min left on the timer, let those in the middle handle the boss. However, if there's less than 30 seconds on the timer and no cage in sight, don't bother beating him up. You'll just waste precious time that could be spent killing beasts.

Now, if you kill a boss and there's no cage, please don't forget that you're holding a key. Remember that and open one as soon as it spawns. There is much frustration to be had when someone doesn't open a cage even though they have a key either because they forgot or don't know.

If you need to cast your ultimate, do so in the middle right when mobs spawn. This way, you'll likely hit the whole map and speed up the process of killing.

If you're a shadower, please for the love of everything that is good turn off pickpocket. No one wants to waste their time looting 1meso off the ground just to get to the miwok boys and meso explosion is useless here anyway.

Finally, the weak cages. Weak cages work like boxes anywhere else: They can only be broken so fast. Meaning that even if the whole team of players gangs up on it, it will break open just as fast as if a single person was hitting it. This means: Let the players on the platform where the cage is handle it. At most, you can help kill beasts on that platform while they're breaking the cage. There is absolutely no benefit to having more than one person swinging away at the cages, actually it slows everybody down. And when the cage breaks, don't scramble for the miwoks here either. It's cooperative, remember that.
