Turns out I bought a duped item

So, about a week back or so, I got this 2l epic, Sweeth2o Tattoo with +7% dex, +7%dex on it for 900mil from OwnYouLater. Didn't really touch it and left in my inventory. Today when I check its stats, I see it's changed into completely crap lines, although still epic. I asked my friend about this and he said the item was duped so Nexon changed stats. I'm gonna send a ticket to Nexon anyways saying I had no idea that it was duped and would like some kind of compensation for the lost 900mil. Any idea if they actually will compensate or just tell me to be more careful or some crap?

P.S. The ign of the seller actually makes me chuckle now.

It's not duped. People don't dupe 2l epic sw tattoos unless it was one of those 21 att ones and those are unique pot. Your friend who 3l swapped it. That's the only conclusion that can be reached.

Nexon never resets potential lines for duped items. They merely erase it or leave it alone.

@Simcaz Yeah, should have taken an ss of the item before but didn't know it would be an issue now.

@KimchiFace I guess I should be lucky but still, 900mil down the drain... And I wonder why anyone would even dupe such a thing. I did send a ticket now, hopes are high but expecting the worst, haha. Thanks for clearing it up!

To the players doubting your story: it is possible for Nexon to change the potential instead of removing the item. I heard that there are multiple ways Nexon solves the problem with duped items. They either: erase it from your inventory, give you a clean one, or change the potential. If I were you, I would be glad that they only changed the lines and not one of the other methods I mentioned above.

Unless you have screenshots from before and after, I think it's pretty safe to say you did a mistake.
I know, it's easier to blame someone else than admit your own mistake but atleast give it a try

@BowlCut Haha, so funny. No, he wasn't the one who told me it was duped.

@royalrin I saw the stats clearly when I received it.

Don't go scaring people like that! I had to check if my [redacted] suffered the same fate, but luckily it's untouched. thank you based Nexon.

Something like that happened to me like 2 years ago. I put 2% allstat earrings i had crafted in storage, and when i took them out they were 2% def. Sorry for your loss

u will only be compensated with maple points if u got hacked, and you get less if your not a big nx buyer/spender

The chances of Nexon compensating you is the same chance of you winning the lottery, or was it worst...I forget.

Sorry for your loss of 900mil, but hey at least you still got the tattoo I guess

All I've heard about duped items is that it will get removed from your inventory if you log out and log back in. Never heard of lines changing.

@xfallingdreams That's what I'm thinking q-q

@Simcaz No, I clearly remember buying it. Even gave it to a friend for 3l service. Did not cube it, too.

You most likely cubed it by accident or bought the wrong one

I doubt nexon will give you any compensation. They rarely do. Probably just tell you to be careful.
