Choosing a name is a personal thing, and what suits one player may not suit another person.
It's not like another player's name is going to ruin your life or anything.

As long as Nexon won't do anything about freeing up all the millions of names (literally millions) locked up forever by permanently banned accounts, and accounts that have been abandoned for years, there's not a whole lot that can be done to aid creativity. And until they do something about all the children with 47 accounts each hogging up hundreds of names they'll never actually use, in an attempt to feed their greed and sell things that should belong to everyone, the situation is even worse.

But criticizing someone for their choice of a name is not very classy.
If you don't like someone's name just ignore them.

well.. you see my dualblade... was made when they 1st came out and at the time every name i tryed was took so i said Forget IT and used old part of one name and part of a dualblades class name so it was Dualinfinii or infiniiBlades and at time i was playing fable again so blades in name was more bad guy sounding

so i used Dualinfinii and name was not took so after countless trys i just went with it

so if anyone's at fault here its thos players who go all the good names then quit maple if you truely quit maple free up the names you have took...
who knows for a good LoL you could type in the old name you used to find someone took it and leveled to 200

It's the new generation of MapleStory players that do it more often than older players.
Back in the day (of like FangBlade and Tiger etc.) most names were original (and also less than 5 letters. . .) There are also few people who use parts of the "generic" class or relation to the class in some ways.

An example would be one of my players in my player list. I've been using Gilded (and some variations like subbing the L for an I) on most my characters, but have not used a generic class piece in it, with the exceptions being my characters not named with Gilded (like my WH, DW, and Phantom).

But there's also some who use it along side their name, like a friend in Deme I have. He uses "Expired" in most of his names, then the class name after. I.E. ExpiredDual, ExpiredWA, ExpiredCannon, etc. And my brother who Decided upon "Frash" as a bad japanese translation of flash (where some pronounce L as R and vice versa). He has FrashKick (his TB) and FrashWave (his Bucc, using Wave from Shark Wave).

So, most names are not dumb, and they usually do so because unlike before when you actually sat there thinking of a cool, creative name, they rush it and name it after the class so they can powerlevel like a no-life.

Most of my characters have a name with associations to their class. Does that make me a loser?

Part of the proud 10% without those words in my IGN.

I sadly named mine Sinfulblader, but I try to pick names that go with the class, my Blaze wizard for example is SwiftnHot, and my UA Ice lightning mage is SwiftnCold, you just gotta go with what fits, although the xxdualsomethinxx is kinda lame. Like really, make a name without having to use filler characters.
