Lets be honest, Maplestory is still a very popular game even with all the changes most people disliked. If you were to go around in real life asking people if you play Maplestory they would probably be like no its a dum computer game. In actuality a lot of people play ms and are just to scared to have their friends find out.

Kind of yeah but it's hardly worth coming back to. Everyone seems to be obsessed with soloing everything now so the social aspect of the game has dropped severely save for a few remaining active guilds/alliances. The economy as well as bossing and LHC were all destroyed by Unleashed with no recovery in sight. Every new update requires NX to really benefit from. The things we do get for free pretty much force us to play every day for weeks on end and all require luck or money to benefit from as well. In the end you're either going to spend a lot of money or waste a lot of time on things that will never reward you appropriately.

It's still a fun game if you're playing with friends and people you enjoy talking to but outside of that it's really just a time soak that will never stop trying to milk you for a better experience. If you quit before then I can't say there's anything that will keep you from quitting again aside from the new Cygnus Knights and other new characters you might want to try out. I recommend you wait until the future RED update before you decide to give Maplestory another try.

Pretty much 70% of the people that I know went MIA. I blame Unleashed for that. :L
