Tell me why as a guy, you want to look cute and feminine

I'm honestly just curious. It's not a big deal, in fact I don't mind it all but I AM curious as to why
so many guys out there love making themselves as feminine as possible to the point where people have to
guess if they're a guy or a girl. It's all about being cute it seems.

But at least the non-cute players stand out a little more haha.
So yeah, tell me what you like about it so much.

Again.. it's a honest question.

That's EXACTLY what I've been wondering too.
Instead of those generic pretty henehoe looks the majority of players go with, I'd go for unique looks.

1) It's eyepleasing. IIt's like why people like kittens & baby animals.
2) Some girls play male characters because male characters occasionally have better clothing (like the male cat hair)

Why would anyone make their male characters look female? That's weird! o.o

'Cause my male character is named after my boyfriend, so I'm trying to make it as fruity as possible in his honor <3

I think I might be one of the most extreme cases with that because I actually
get yelled at in-game quite a lot while i'm trying to be as friendly and helpful as I can be.

I often get thrown aside quickly by my looks. I like it though, it's like a filter for bad people haha.
LOL Filter for bad people. I really like that! Yeah people don't talk to me in game either... jk.. sorta

A change of looks? My DP is a male in this that I made look feminine. I wanted to change things up. A lot of people seem to think that your game character is an extention on yourself and what not and you should be a male if your a guy and a female if your a girl. In the end of the day this is still a game and you should have fun with. I remember making a thread before asking what people thought about guys making female charas and girls making male ones. I was surprised by the amount of people who got upset by it (the amount of people who were okay with it heavily out weighed the people who did care). It's just a game, people should be able to do whatever they want without other people being upset by their actions.

None of this is directed to you in an attack or anything of that sort OP.

Some simply just like that whole cute aspect. In real life society you would be stared at and judged for the way you dress. Whereas on maple you are free to do whatever you want.

The maplestory nx meta in scania most guys make themselves look girly.

also keep in mind that some girls like to make guy characters to make them like that. im a guy and i have characters that look girly, it has nothing to do with being gey or w/e i just like the way it looks. most people in this thread will probably say " they like their character to look like that because there gey" -_- those people just dont understand why people do it.

Well I must say a large portion of the nx items in-game are cutesy. That's why I chose to make a female character and basically play dress-up for funsies. I'd totally have picked more male characters if the game supported more masculinity.

I'm always under the impression it's because they to think/act like it's the funniest thing in the world that they look feminine. Personally, I don't really know what the appeal is in the cutesy stuff. I just stick to what I've always had.

Players try to make their character fit into the game. Don't take males being cute and kawaii the wrong way. Sometime it looks funny and cool.

Different cultures have different perceptions of "beauty."

Some like manly guys. Others like more feminine guys. Also, different people have different perceptions of beauty as well.

Oh and, if you think I look cute, your eyes are deceiving you. I'm an evil creature...

To deter verbal insults maybe?
I mean believe it or not, people might have subconscious trust to things that are cute ie nonthreatening. And therefore interactions between strangers can function smoother. All potentially of course.

Yeah I agree. People usually are weirded out by my looks. I agree it's kind of a filter

I personally though, LOVE your character!
to balance out their ruggedly handsome irl appearance obviously.

but really, I think one thing that's important to mention is that not everyone sees their character as an extension of themselves. they don't see it as deceitful or anything, since you should never assume people are the same in a game as they are in real life (gender or appearance).Sometimes it's just an arbitrary choice. Ex: I made a female Kanna since I thought the male kannas looked really dumb.
I honestly do it for the fun/ tricking bit of people.
I mean, I find it hilarious when people come towards you in henesys, and try to hit on you not knowing your gender then telling them that I'm a male character.
But also am waiting for a male face that looks mascular and cool to be re-released. ( Such as OP's eyes)

Some of them might be endogenous. It's their avatar to mess around with I suppose. I personally think they look just as weird as some of those others that go for the opposite and try to make their character look as masculine as possible o.o
