Y'know... range isn't everything...

With RED, my Hero's damage output skyrocketed... mainly because, although the damage range seems lower, each attack hits many more times. Also, much of a Hero's damage output involves synergy with a multitude of buffs and effects. Though it's not really needed on enemies, it really comes through when fighting a boss.

When bossing, a smart Hero will activate Enrage the moment he can, build orbs, use Puncture (to up critical rate), then hit with Panic to darken the boss (which increases damage output with Chance Attack) before fully laying into the target. Every 30 seconds or so, hit with another Panic and maybe another Puncture and keep up the hits.

It really helps that Combo Attack and Enrage are toggle skills now... heck, not counting Maple Warrior, we only really have 3 buffs we need to activate. Very handy.

With paladins, you have to very heavily rely on your buffs, since they practically double your damage (void + 5 ele stacks + blast buff = Op) so you gotta keep attacking. Heroes only get stronger at the way later levels (170+), though i havent tried much heroing, id rather stick with my original pally class. Now go out there and smite da evil you pally change noob

Hero's are late bloomers, they don't hit their full power until level 160+ I wouldn't bother doing any fair comparison with any fourth job unless its level 170+.
With the RED update the hero's range appears decreased but their power output has significantly increased. The lower range is a fix from an older glitch that calculated one of the Hero's passives/hyper into the range. So it only appeared higher than what it was supposed to be. Now the range is, what it actually is.

I switched yesterday, gained about ~15k in range (I'm level 132)

However I was hitting 250k's while my Hero was hitting 100k's
