Well the usual build is:
Final Cut First, Then Thorns.
Whether you're bossing or training, maxing those two is a must. If you're going to continue to grind/train, then max MW after, or to 10/20.
And if you're bossing, after thorns, max CoH. Pretty simple build.
After doing that, your friend should have a good idea of what to add and what not.
