Why so much keyloggers on basil?

Just wondering what you think. First it was "maple chat" which actually caught onto a ton of users.

Then it was that maple calculator thing, and theirs been sooo much more. And jsut now someone posted some useless toolbar.

I myself actually got hacked by the maple chat thing...

Anyways do you think this is a team of heckers trying to keylog basil? Or do you think it's just one person doing all of this? Or what do you think? Just random people maybe?
