Paladin

Co-author be needed.

Hello loyal Paladin-folk,

Due to my inactivity (because of exams) I've not been able to keep up with recent developments to my Paladin guide (stickied in this section). I'm very clueless about UA and LHC, and I'm not planning to become acquainted with them for a while yet.

As such, the guide has a lot of updating to be done!

I'm looking for a co-author or two to fill in some sections of the guide that I'm unable to write about at the moment, so that together we can finish the guide to the current state of affairs in the game.

I'll be updating training areas with the help of my guild and forumers, but some of the more specific areas I won't be able to write about, because of lack of experience.

To help me in this respect, I need co-authors to write sections on the following areas:

-The UA System-

This section will entail a brief overview of what a UA is, how to make a UA, and how UA differs from regular Paladins.

-The UA Differences-

This section will summarize any differences in skillbuilds, AP builds, equipment, training areas, training style, etc...

-LHC-

This section will entail a summary of how to access LHC, how to train there, and anything necessary for Paladin's to make use of the area. I include this section because [I believe] it is the latest endgame area. (if this isn't correct, please inform me)

Please post here if you're willing to write one or more of the sections. What you write, I will be editing, so that it fits in with the style of the guide, but you will be credited both at the beginning of that section, and in a credits section I will add at the end. If you want to remain anonymous, you can PM me.

Sincerely,

-Skrato/Hypocrism

Mastery Book Locations:

As you may know, Big Bang completely changed the monsters from which items dropped from before big bang. Basilmarket's droplists are OFTEN outdated, so do not rely on them. Hidden-street.net has a much more accurate droplist, and so, to save you the trouble of having to look up each book, here is the list:

Advanced Charge 10: Zakum (requires scissors of karma to TRADE)

Blast 20: Homunscullo, Dark Klock, Maverick Type A (recommend Dark Klock, even though it is a poor choice...)
Blast 30: Dunas, Lilynouch, Lyka, Homun (Homuns would be easiest, being at a low level of 93, while the Dunas takes a while to get to while the other two are 159+ bosses)

Guardian 20: --
Guardian 30: Hankie, Lycanthrope

Achilles 20: --
Achilles 30: --

Heaven's Hammer 20: Blood Harp, Chief Qualm Guardian
Heaven's Hammer 30: Skelosaurus, Horntail, crimsonwood party quest bonus (cwkpq bonus recommended, also the reason why this book is cheap)

Power Stance 20: Kru, Captain, Homunculus, Jr. Newtie, Dodo
Power Stance 30: Hankie, Bain, AF Android, Nibelung [3], Zakum

Divine Charge 20: Overlord A, Maverick Type A, Maverick Type D, Jar, Oberon

Maple Warrior 20: Aufheben, Red Dragon Turtle, Horntail's Head B, Blue Dragon Turtle
Maple Warrior 30: Pink Bean, Horntail

Rush 20: Red Dragon Turtle, Nibelung [3], Cold Shark, Blue Dragon Turtle, Crimson Balrog
Rush 30: Red Slime, Red Slime [2], Manon, Memory Guardian, Giant Centipede

NOTE: Divine Shield and Advanced Charge both max out at level 10, and Divine Charge maxes out at level 20. Also, secret mastery books have a chance to give a random skillbook, which could be useful in obtaining a book that has no drop information. I myself obtained a Guardian 20 in this way. Therefore, I recommend you to go to Ani as much as possible in hopes of obtaining this secret mastery book.

Credits and Source: Hidden-street.net, and from personal experiences.

If someone knows anymore drop locations, please add to this list.

Common Misconceptions:

Misconception: Magic Crash can cancel a boss's cancel weapon/magic buff.
Truth: Magic Crash can cancel all buffs EXCEPT cancel weapon/magic attack. However, magic crash will prevent the monster from using any buffs for 20 seconds at maxed level. Therefore, with 3 fourth job warriors and good timing, it is possible to prevent a boss from ever casting cancel weapon/magic attack.

Misconception: ZOMGZOMGZOMG PALADINS DOING 300K PER BLAST AND 250K ON EACH MONSTER WITH SOUL DRIVER! OPOPOPOP
Misconception: First of all, check to see if the monster has an elemental weakness, which would give the paladin a boost in damage. Secondly, Paladins have a buff called divine shield that adds +34 weapon attack at 2 beyond max, but it requires a lot of control to keep active during training and is practically impossible to keep active 100% of the time at bosses. Thirdly, that paladin could just simply be well funded. Also, when chaos comes, Soul Driver will be nerfed from 1000% each mob to 640% each mob. Oh and also, if that paladin has soul driver, he/she also has a +24 weapon attack buff from empress' blessing.

Misconception:
RUMOR: UA paladins don't need CB, or ACB
THE TRUTH: ACB at max level +2 gives you 94% mastery, to all attacks.
A bit of a correction: ACB at max level +2 gives you 94% mastery ONLY WHEN YOU ARE USING A CHARGE. Therefore, against a monster that is immune against all elements(like Master Guardians), paladins will lose 44% mastery as well as attack bonus from elemental charges. Luckily, this type of monster is rare.

Misconception: STOP USING HEAVEN'S HAMMER WHEN I'M RUSHING THE MOBS, I CAN'T RUSH! (typically at LHC or cwkpq)
Truth: As it turns out, Heaven's Hammer CANNOT cause KB to monsters. It simply does 999,999 damage to it, or lowers it's HP to one, end of story. If someone can't rush, it's for some other reason. LHC mobs get stuck often and usually someone's summon is attacking passively.

@bojl Thanks.
Well I originally had the SD comparison at 7vs7, but since you clarified that SD hits 6 mobs I changed it to 6v6. Comparing ACBs 7 mobs to SDs 6 would be kinda redundant, seeing how ACB would just destroy SD.

How about the Freacking ridiculous I DUN NEED ACB I HAVE SOUL DRIVER!1!
Hmm... I'm not sure, but I think SD currently beats ACB, even with a mob of 7+. At least, it does until Chaos. I don't have the math for this though.

Oh, also - another misconception.
"Guys, I think my Paladin job advancement got glitched. I don't have ACB. Help please?"
Thanks for the correction I had the info open for Mihile's but I was just to ignorant to think they were different xP Fixing now!
Also, ACB hits 7 monsters when maxed with CO.
I need to update my guide. Competition.

Now, for an update.
~~~~~~~~~~The UA system.~~~~~~~~~~
What is an UA?
- UA is an acronym for Ultimate Adventurer. It is basically an explorer in skills, but receive hard-to-obtain skills from the moment that it is made, specifically speaking, the Cygnus skill and the strengthening skill. They also obtain special armor and a special medal when they are made.
- The special armor set has a nice attack bonus when the whole thing is equipped.
- The medal has 2 atk, 2 matk, 10 speed/jump, and 200 hp/mp. Currently, it is the best medal in GMS apart from Time Traveler medals, which cannot be obtained anymore, "I'm a lucky guy" medals, which are incredibly expensive, and the level 200 medals, which give 3 atk or 3 matk, depending on the job.
How do you make an UA?
- The road to making an UA is a hard one, but well worth the trouble. The first requirement is to obtain level 120 on a KoC. After that, you must obtain the Captain Knight's Medal. This triggers the quest from Cygnus to collect peridots. These peridots can be found at both harps and blood harps, but be aware - the drop rate is extremely low.
- Hint:Use a 2x drop card. Especially on 2x events. It helps quite a bit.
How do UA Paladins differ from regular Paladins?
- Besides the exclusive equipment and the cygnus skills, UA Paladins are basically Paladins. However, UA Paladins will have less hp and mp, as well as less inventory space. It is not confirmed whether this is a glitch or not.
~~~~~~~~~~The UA differences.~~~~~~~~~~

The SP build.
- Basically put, Soul Driver will be your main attacking skill from second job all the way to fourth job. This means that attacking skills, such as charged blow, will not be as prioritized as damage buffs, such as fire charge.
- Remember to follow the CO build - put every skill below two (This only applies for third job and lower - max fourth job skills completely). However, max HP Boost, Power Guard, Combat Orders, and last but not least, Charged Blow. Yes, you may be thinking, "Oh, Charged Blow? I have Soul Driver." However, you need maxed Charged Blow for Advanced Charge Blow, which gives 94% mastery when maxed with CO.
- Don't forget - you do not get Advanced Charge Blow on advancement. You must obtain the book from Zakum.

The SP build - specifics.
There will be an explanation of the skill builds after every job advancement. I cannot currently give a clear build on fourth job, as I have not reached it yet, and it mainly depends on one's funds.

Second Job - Page
50- Since you start out with 122 points, this level itself will have an explanation.
+10 HP Boost (10)
+20 Power Strike (20)
+20 Iron Body (20)
+11 Slash Blast (11)
61 points left for 2nd job - you must use all first job points for first job. As Shield Mastery, a third job skill, triples any defence that you have, Iron Body actually gives 600 Weapon defence. There's not much need for Slash Blast, as you have Soul Driver.

+20 Weapon Mastery (20)
+ 6 Booster (6)
+ 3 Threaten (3)
+ 20 Power Guard (20)
+ 12 Booster (18)
Another 61 points. You will still leave all skills below 2 from max for CO, but some skills should be maxed because you will have leftover points eventually. FA is currently much lower in priority, as FA does not work with Mihile's Soul Driver (Nor the original Soul Driver).

51 + 3 Threaten (6)
52 + 3 Threaten (9)
53 + 3 Threaten (12)
54 + 3 Threaten (15)
55 + 3 Threaten (18)

57 + 3 Final Attack (6)
58 + 3 Final Attack (9)
59 + 3 Final Attack (12)
60 + 3 Final Attack (15)
61 + 3 Final Attack (18)
62 + 3 Enhanced Basics (3)
63 + 3 Enhanced Basics (6)
64 + 3 Enhanced Basics (9)
65 + 1 Enhanced Basics (10)
+ 2 Slash Blast (13)
66 + 3 Slash Blast (16)
67 + 3 Slash Blast (19)
68 + 1 Slash Blast (20)
+ 2 Booster (20)
69 + 2 Threaten (20)
+ 1 Final Attack (19)
70 + 1 Final Attack (20)
+ 2 Ground Smash (2)

Let's face it, Ground Smash is completely dominated by Mihile's Soul Driver (let's call it MSD now) in every single way. MSD has better damage, better range, and can hit more monsters even at level 1. You might as well trash GS, and max every other skill in first and second job.

In total, you should have:
First Job
HP Boost - Maxed
Iron Body - Maxed
Slash Blast - Maxed
Power Strike - Maxed

Second Job
Weapon Mastery - Maxed
Final Attack - Maxed
Weapon Booster - Maxed
Enhanced Basics - Maxed
Threaten - Maxed
Power Guard - Maxed
Ground Smash - 2

Third Job - White Knight
Congratulations! You have reached level 70. This is the point where all three warrior classes start to really differ from each other.
To job advance:
1) Talk to your third job instructor in El Nath. His name should be Tylus.
2) Say that you want to take the test for third job advancement. (Or something along those lines)
3) Go to Dances With Balrog, who will tell you to defeat his dark side.
4) Go to the last map in Sleepywood. There should be a dimensional portal there. Go in.
5) After defeating him, go back to Dances With Balrog, and you should get a Proof of Strength.
6) Go to El Nath. Have a Dark Crystal ready.
7) Talk to Tylus. He will tell you to go to the Holy Ground in the Snowfield.
8) Go to the Holy Stone in that map, which will ask you questions after taking your Dark Crystal. Make sure that you get them all correct, or you will need to start over with another Dark Crystal. For answers, search up "3rd Job Advancement questions" in Google.
9) Talk to Tylus after obtaining the Proof of Wisdom.
10) Congratulations! You are now a White Knight.

70 + 1 Fire Charge (1)
71 + 3 Fire Charge (4)
72 + 3 Fire Charge (7)
73 + 3 Fire Charge (10)
74 + 3 Fire Charge (13)

+ 1 Lightning Charge (1)
77 + 3 Lightning Charge (4)
78 + 3 Lightning Charge (7)
79 + 3 Lightning Charge (10)
80 + 3 Lightning Charge (13)
81 + 3 Lightning Charge (16)
82 + 2 Lightning Charge (18)
+ 1 HP Recovery (1)
83 + 3 HP Recovery (4)
84 + 1 HP Recovery (5)
+ 2 Combat Orders (2)
85 + 3 Combat Orders (5)
86 + 3 Combat Orders (8)
87 + 3 Combat Orders (11)
88 + 3 Combat Orders (14)
89 + 3 Combat Orders (17)
90 + 3 Combat Orders (20)
It would be good to use a shield from here on out.
91 + 3 Shield Mastery (3)
92 + 3 Shield Mastery (6)
93 + 3 Shield Mastery (9)
94 + 3 Shield Mastery (12)
95 + 3 Shield Mastery (15)
96 + 3 Shield Mastery (18)
97 + 3 Ice Charge (3)
98 + 3 Ice Charge (6)
99 + 3 Ice Charge (9)
100 + 3 Ice Charge (12)
101 + 3 Ice Charge (15)
102 + 3 Ice Charge (18)
103 + 3 Charged Blow (3)
104 + 3 Magic Crash (3)
105 + 3 Magic Crash (6)
106 + 3 Magic Crash (9)
107 + 3 Magic Crash (12)
108 + 3 Magic Crash (15)
109 + 3 Magic Crash (18)
110 + 3 HP Recovery (8)
111 + 3 Charged Blow (6)
112 + 3 Charged Blow (9)
113 + 3 Charged Blow (12)
114 + 3 Charged Blow (15)
115 + 3 Charged Blow (18)
116 +3 Charged Blow (21)
117 +3 Charged Blow (24)
118 +3 Charged Blow (27)
119 +3 Charged Blow (30)
120 + 2 Magic Crash (20)
+1 HP Recovery (9)

The build is pretty straightforward. Just max all skills at 2 points below max for Combat Orders. However, you must, must max Combat Orders and Charged Blow. Combat Orders does not stack on itself, and maxed Charged Blow is needed for Advanced Charged Blow. The last 3 points at 120 are debatable. CO brings them to max level already, but in a situation where you do not have CO/cannot have CO, you have the choice of having a 100% Magic Crash for 20 seconds, and a HP Recovery that heals 76% of Max HP with a cooldown of 37 seconds, or a 94% Magic Crash for 20 seconds, and a HP Recovery that heals 80% of Max HP with a cooldown of 30 seconds. Personally, in a bossing situation, I think constantly blocking boss skills at a 100% rate is more worth it than having 4% more HP healed at 7 seconds faster.

And again, in total, you should have:
Third Job
Shield Mastery - 18
Fire Charge - 18
Ice Charge - 18
Lightning Charge - 18
HP Recovery - 9
Magic Crash - Maxed
Combat Orders - Maxed
Charged Blow - Maxed

Fourth Job - Paladin.
Congratulations on Fourth Job! The build from here on out will depend on your funding. But there are still basics at the start.
I cannot provide a guide on how to complete the 4th job advancement, as I have never done it before.

120 + 1 Rush (1)
+ 1 Blast (1)
+ 1 ACB (1)
121 + 3 ACB (4)
122 + 3 ACB (7)
123 + 3 ACB (10)

From here on out, you should max important skills, like Blast, but it's entirely dependent on your funding. Skillbooks have become expensive. I believe they will stay this way until Treasure Monsters come out.

Training.
- Recommended to train in areas with large mobs. Mobs that have high hp and high exp would also be good, such as Jesters, as you will be hitting very high with Soul Driver.

Lv 50 - 60 = Drakes/ CDs
Lv 60 - 70 = Jesters at Toy Room
Lv 70 - 90 = Jesters in Chimney
Lv 90 - 100 = MP3/ Roids
Lv 100 - 110 = Krus/Captains
Lv 110 - 114 = Ghost Pirates
Lv 114 - 115 = Dual Ghost Pirates
Lv 115 - 200 = Lionheart Castle

Equipment.
- You will get two sets of equipment - one for level 50, and one for 70. Eventually, neither of these should be used. When this time comes is dependent on your funding. The equipment sets should no longer be used if the new equipment that you have obtained surpasses the equipment set in almost every single way.
- Remember that you are not a DW, or some other class with high mobility. Try to obtain equipment with speed to make training faster.

~~~~~~~~~~Lionheart Castle.~~~~~~~~~~
(This is a subject that I cannot help with very much, as my UA White Knight has yet to explore much of LHC. However, I can try my best.)
How do I get to LHC?
- Go to El Nath. Keep going until you are in Sharp Cliff 4. At that point, there should be two portals at the top. Enter the one with the wooden sign pointing to it.
How do I train at LHC?
- If there's anything you want, you want a full party to train with. The 250% EXP bonus completely demolishes anything solo training could accomplish. Of course, things like HS and damage-boosting buffs are recommended to maximize EXP gain.
- Use rush to gather up mobs, then use either Soul Driver or Advanced Charge Blow (definitely ACB after the Chaos update) to kill them.
- Avoid stone golems. I hear they are elementally resistant to everything except for holy, in which they are only neutral to. Take advantage of the monsters' elemental weaknesses. Most monsters are weak to fire, so use that.
Muhahahahahaa. Updated.
Tell me if there's anything wrong with the guide.
Well what ever, I'll just post what I have for now:
[Header]-The UA System-[/Header]
What is a UA?
Well, first of all, the acronym UA stands for "Ultimate Adventurer", and an Ultimate Adventurer is just that, an Adventurer with a few perks. The advantages of being a UA is:
[*] You start out at lvl 50
[*] You get an Empress Set to start out, which has its own set bonus.
When you equip 4 or more you get: +100HP/MP, +50Def/M.Def
When you equip 5 or more you get: +6 all stats, +5 w.Att, +100 Def/M.Def, +20 Speed
[*] You get a snazzy Medal (it has the name of your Cygnus, gives 2 w.att AND 5 Speed/Jump, which is awesome for warriors).
[*] You get to equip items 10 lvls early.
And the only one anyone cares about:
[*] You get to inherit the signiture skill of your respective Cygnus Knight (for Paladins it would be Soul Driver)
How do I make a UA?
To get all the awesome perks that UA's get is very simple. All you have to do is get a Cygnus Knight to lvl120. Ouch? Yea, it takes a bit of dedication to walk the path of the UA xP. Unfortunately it doesn't stop their, after you get your Cygnus Knight to lvl 120 you get to the final step of making your UA, a quest line:
Note: I haven't made a UA Myself, so most of this is paraphrased from @xAyannx's Ultimate UA Guide:
Step1: At lvl 120 you will get a lightbulb quest. So head over to El Nath and look for Jade at the east side of town. She wants you to kill some zombies and get a Black Scale, so head over to the El Nath Dungeon and keep going until you find Coolie Zombies. Just kill a few, nab the Scale and move on.
Step2: Now that you have your Scale you will get another lightbulb quest from an NPC named Spiruna. Al you have to do is bring the Black Scale to her, so just go over to Cloud Park IV and enter the house in the center.
Step3: Now head over to Leafre and accept the quest from Chief Tatamo, for this one all you have to do is talk to an NPC called Nix, which can be found in Isolated Forest, which can be accessed from either Monon's Forest or Griffey's Forest.
Step4: For this quest all you have to do is kill Mannon and Griffey, it seems simple enough but it actually may take some time since Mannon is a pretty hunted boss (for normal Adventurers 4th job advancement and a HT prequest). So if you see a super pro HT slayer killing a Mannon politely ask them to let you join their party , all you need is the kill anyway. After you beat these two bossses go back and talk to Nix.
Step5: Find the Nest of a Dead Dragon in Leafre (it's the first map with Skelegons in it) and enter the cave there. Inside talk to the Frightening Marble NPC to accept and finish its quest.
Step6: Next go back to Neinhar and accept his quest. You will be fighting one of the black mages minnions The Black Witch, I hear the boss is pretty tough, so stock up on potions and visit the Cave of Black Witches and talk to the Fallen Knight NPC to enter the room.
Step7: And now for the boss fight, since I haven't fought her yet I'll just post some tips from @xAyannx UA Guide:
Now that you've finished the Cygnus Knight Job Advancement you will recieve a few useless rewards:
[*] A Medal
[*] The Empress' Might skill, Which allows you to equips items 10 lvls above you.
[*] The Empress's Shout skill, which increases your HP/MP by 20%
[*] A skill that buffs you for 2 hours (forget what it's called)
And most importantly
[*] The final quest to get your UA
The Final Test
Well now that that's out of the way you get the most simple quest so far, all you have to do is collect 10 Peridots. This task is simple, but not easy. The drop rate for these buggers is low and I mean, getting all 10 takes an average of 5 hours. But this is your final step in becoming a UA, so get your 2x ready, get comfortable, and head over to Harps or Blood Harps and start your hunting.
When you've got all your Peridots head back to to the Empress and begin the character creation process. Now make sure you're 100% sure on which UA you want to make 'cause you can only have 1 UA per LVL120 Cygnus and If you delete your UA you have to repeat the whole process to get another one. Well since this is a Paladin guide, I'm just going to assume you chose the Page class and move on to the next section.
What's the Difference Between a UA Paladin and a Reg Paladin
Well I already mentioned the perks for UA Paladins, but let's go a little in depth:
[*] You start at lvl 50:
Well I'm sure you're sick and tired of spending all that time hunting Peridots, so Nexon was kind enough to give your character a little boost. Now this is a double edged sword that I'll get to later, but the pros to this are: you dont have to buy 50 lvls worth of equips, and you can put your 1st Job SP wherever you want.
[*] You get the "Insert your cygnus' name here's Succesor" Medal:
This Medal is really awesome, not only is it unique to every UA, but it adds 2 w.att and 5 Speed/Jump. Asside from the Time Traveler Medal (which was an event) and the Lvl 200 Medal, this is the only Medal with W.att as far as I know. It also adds Speed and Jump, which is heavenly for a Warrior since we don't have any skills that increase it.
[*] You get to equip items 10 lvls early:
Pretty self explanitory, if you equip yourself properly then you will be 10 lvls stronger then the competition ;D
[*] You get SOUL DRIVER
The only difference that actually matters. Oh My God this skill is WAY TOO GOOD! Soul Driver is like a mini ultimate, it has awesome range, the cast time is decent, AND it Hits 8 Enemies 4 Times for 250% Dmg each hit (1000% Total)! Wow! The Cygnus Skill is designed to help you with 3rd job grinding, but Soul Driver is actually Very useful in 4th job! Let's do some comparisons with Charge Blast:
IIRC Charge Blow has the same speed as Flash FIst, 600ms, and Soul Driver has a delay of 1650ms. so you can get off 2.75 Charge Blows in the time it takes to do 1 Soul Driver.
Charge Blow deals 360% to 4 Targets and Soul Driver deals 1000% to 8 Targets.
So against 1 target (BAHAHAHA) - CB would do 990%, just 10% off of Soul Driver
Against 2 Targets - CB would do 1980%, which is 20% off of Soul Driver
Against 4 Targets - CB would do 3960%, which is 40% off of SOul Driver
Basically Soul Driver will always beat out Charge Blow by 10% per target, but luckily we Paladins get Advanced Charge in 4th Job.
I'm pretty sure Advanced Charge has the same delay as CB (still don't have it) so we'll be dealing with the same speeds.
At lvl 12 ACB does 480% and Soul Driver still does that 1000%
So Against 2 Targets - ACB Deals 2640% and Soul Driver deals 2000%
Against 4 Targets - ACB Deals 5280% and Soul Driver deals 4000%
Against 7 Targets - ACB Deals 9240% and Soul Driver deals 7000%
So you may be thinking that ACB outshines Soul Driver, but it really doesn't. Sure it does less damage but SD has 1 thing ACB doesn't, range. SD hits an impressive distance around and above you, so if a few targets are out of ACBs Range (IE above/behind you) just SD the whole mob . Another perfect use of SD is Zak Arms, if you stand in Zakums Body you can hit 6 Arms, but if you ACB the sides you can only hit 3-4.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not 100% sure of ANY of these calculations, so feel free to scarp them if they sound off.
[*] The 2 Cons of being a UA
Well I had mentioned that starting at lvl 50 is a double edged sword, and the reason is that you dont do your 1st job advancement. What does this mean? It means you get less hp and inventory slots. Luckily you aren't a Bowman, so losing out on 600 hp is nothing, and you aren't an Assassin, so losing out on 4 Inventory Slots isn't a big deal either. But these are the only to cons of the UA's, TBH they are very miniscule, but I felt like adding them here anyway.
One thing you need to fix: Soul Driver is 250%x4 on 6 monsters, not 8. That Soul Driver that hits 8 is for Dawn Warriors only.
Your help would be great, thanks for volunteering. If you write any sections, PM me or post in here. I'll be combining all contributions to keep it in the style of the guide and giving credit to all contributors.
That sounds like a really good section to add, please feel free to write it!
I'd really like to know what sections you're talking about - I thought most of it was accurate and I fixed the errors pointed out in the old thread and the discussion of the guide.
@Legendary777 This looks like a good start. I'll be updating the guide from May 23.
I guess I can go into more specifics with SP build later. And then perhaps various training spots.
Well I'd love to help with the guide I've always wanted to write a Pally Guide
So would you like me to post the sections here or PM the info to you? :O
Your help would be great, thanks for volunteering. If you write any sections, PM me or post in here. I'll be combining all contributions to keep it in the style of the guide and giving credit to all contributors.
Would you need someone to write about the rumors of pally-dom, and how they're basically all untrue? haha.
Cause I'd be happy to, provided that you'd be interested in including that as a part of the guide.
P.S - rumors of pally-dom are very much intertwined with UAs, because with the coming of UAs came bandwagoners, which spread tons of lies about paladins/WKs as a class.
That sounds like a really good section to add, please feel free to write it!
Skrato you really should consider having someone rewrite a few sections of your guide. Some of the "facts" were wrong to start with. I found these a few months back so I can't remember all of them, if not any, so I won't be pointing them out. Now back to more important things like final exams and papers...
I can help with this. Here we go:
The UA system.
This section will entail a brief overview of what a UA is, how to make a UA, and how UA differs from regular Paladins.
What is an UA?
- UA is an acronym for Ultimate Adventurer. It is basically an explorer in skills, but receive hard-to-obtain skills from the moment that it is made, specifically speaking, the Cygnus skill and the strengthening skill. They also obtain special armor and a special medal when they are made.
How do you make an UA?
- The road to making an UA is a hard one, but well worth the trouble. The first requirement is to obtain level 120 on a KoC. After that, you must obtain the Captain Knight's Medal. This triggers the quest from Cygnus to collect peridots. These peridots can be found at both harps and blood harps, but be aware - the drop rate is extremely low.
How do UA Paladins differ from regular Paladins?
- Besides the exclusive equipment and the cygnus skills, UA Paladins are basically Paladins. However, UA Paladins will have less hp and mp, as well as less inventory space. It is not confirmed whether this is a glitch or not.
The UA differences.
The SP build.
- Basically put, Soul Driver will be your main attacking skill from second job all the way to fourth job. This means that attacking skills, such as charged blow, will not be as prioritized as damage buffs, such as fire charge.
- Remember to follow the CO build - put every skill below two (This only applies for third job and lower - max fourth job skills completely). However, max HP Boost, Power Guard, Combat Orders, and last but not least, Charged Blow. Yes, you may be thinking, "Oh, Charged Blow? I have Soul Driver." However, you need maxed Charged Blow for Advanced Charge Blow, which gives 94% mastery when maxed with CO.
- Don't forget - you do not get Advanced Charge Blow on advancement. You must obtain the book from Zakum.
The AP build.
- As Big Bang does not rely on accuracy as much as level difference, putting all AP in STR would be recommended.
Training.
- Recommended to train in areas with large mobs. Mobs that have high hp and high exp would also be good, such as Jesters, as you will be hitting very high with Soul Driver.
Equipment.
- You will get two sets of equipment - one for level 50, and one for 70. Eventually, neither of these should be used. When this time comes is dependent on your funding. The equipment sets should no longer be used if the new equipment that you have obtained surpasses the equipment set in almost every single way.
- Remember that you are not a DW, or some other class with high mobility. Try to obtain equipment with speed to make training faster.
Lionheart Castle.
(This is a subject that I cannot help with very much, as my UA White Knight has yet to explore much of LHC. However, I can try my best.)
How do I get to LHC?
- Go to El Nath. Keep going until you are in Sharp Cliff 4. At that point, there should be two portals at the top. Enter the one with the wooden sign pointing to it.
How do I train at LHC?
- If there's anything you want, you want a full party to train with. The 250% EXP bonus completely demolishes anything solo training could accomplish. Of course, things like HS and damage-boosting buffs are recommended to maximize EXP gain.
- Use rush to gather up mobs, then use either Soul Driver or Advanced Charge Blow (definitely ACB after the Chaos update) to kill them.
- Avoid stone golems. I hear they are elementally resistant to everything except for holy, in which they are only neutral to. Take advantage of the monsters' elemental weaknesses. Most monsters are weak to fire, so use that.
How did I do?
Training for UA Pali: *recomended
70-90: Jesters* (1-2 days)
90-100: mp3*, Jesters, Gallops (1-2 days)
100-110: Captains/Kru*, Jesters, Himes (1-3 days)
110-120: Ghost Pirates*, Captains, mp3 (1-3 days)
Notes:
- Even a normal funded player will be able to one hit kill jesters by lv80/90, this makes training there amazing.
- When going to mp3 take note that while inside ghost ship, you can hit both levels of every map if you jump with SD.
- Ghost Pirates are fire weak
- Slimys are Lightning weak
Instead of looking for a co-author, how about we barrage you with ideas you can implement into your guide? So there'd be a few people who will write paragraph(s) about the same topic, some more people to point out things, the occasional guy/girl who offers no help at all (generally in the form of "loluabandwagonersdontdeservetohaveaguidewrittenforthemyetimstillgoingtoaccusethemofbeinglazyandnotlookingatguidesalthoughthecurrentoneisslippingintooblivion", but also possibly by intentionally providing false information) and maybe a few people who point out the wrong thing, are corrected, and will (hopefully) have learnt from attempting to contribute to your guide.
Of course, this is only some fancy idea pulled out of my head. I can only imagine it working. Feel free to throw a reality flavoured pie in my face; just make sure it's been thawed out enough.
Soul Driver:
- 250% (4 hits) on 6 enemies. (now)
- 180% (4 hits) on 6 enemies. (later with nerf)
- Im not sure on cast time, i think it was 1250 ms... (double check this)
- When you begin at lvl 50 as a UA, you get lvl 1 SD. Every 10 lvls you will gain another point into SD until it is maxed at 5. (lvl90)
- You can cast SD while jumping. (further increasing its vertical range)
- I like using rush SD+Rush macro somtimes because it seems to fit perfect with the slight delay SD has. (I also swap this out for threaten somtimes)
Edit: What I see many UA Paladins doing while using SD, is using it at a range. You should recomend using SD while tanking because they will take less dmg, and the effects of devine shield will work better. Also when they are k/b away from the mob/monster use rush to get back into tanking position.
