I thought Alienware computers were supposed to cost a lot, and laptops even more. But that is quite an impressive deal. Better than my PC lol.

Well, I would say so to a point; the system configuration I have is over $2000 customized on their site however I was able to receive a 22% discount. Considering how powerful it is ( mainly the CPU and GPU ) in comparison with similar configurations, I couldnt pass up such a deal. Plus like I said, it has HDMI in which is a huge plus for me.

I tried bashing on Alienware. 20 minutes later, it didn't look so good after I realized (and edited) that the basic Aurora configuration uses two GTS 450s and an i5-2300 as opposed to a single 4670 and i3 found in the pre-refresh Aurora. Looks like Alienware got even more competitive with better value on top of marketing hype and DELL's generous warranty services. This thread made me look at the laptop line and I had to quietly conclude that the prices were reasonable.

Surprisingly, its nice ( got it about a week or so ago ). I have yet to OC it, but I havent had the need to yet due to the games I play. LOL@Automatic Updates, they were free but one of the first things I did was disable them, along with removing my pagefile, hibernation file, and a few other tweaks for space and performance.

The one thing I do have a problem with is that for some reason, the commit charge is significantly higher than it should be. I need to fix it ASAP as I often run into memory issues with no pagefile. Other than that though as I said, its very nice. The fact that it has HDMI IN was a huge plus.

Sounds nice..! Let us know how you like it...

How much extra did the Automatic Updates option cost..?

(I remember when the stick-on label came off a CDR I put in a slot-load player in my car... shuddddder.)
