Corsair

Pre Justice vs Post Justice Dpm

Okay...so there has been soooo many threads asking if we are still bossers, did we get nerf, etc, etc and because @lazypando: is making me do this, that decided to make this thread showing the overview damage improvement.

Quick history; since corsairs were released we have always had #1 paper damage. Reason why I say paper is because of how inconsistent it was with the ship cooldown, no stance compare to everyone else, etc, etc. Until around the start of chaos, we slowly started to fall behind, because well...everyone gets revamped to be stronger and we haven't really gotten a major one since Big Bang.

Justice; The update has effected our playing-style greatly and how people view it is all opinionated so leaving playing style out and just talking about pure #s, here it the basic over review so that people hopefully get their answer and stop asking.

It's basically a copy and paste from other threads;
Justice vs pre Justice
300% cannon vs 330% rapid fire
0% ignore def vs 20% ignore defense from full metal jacket
free 40attack (bullets+boat) vs free 80attack (hollow point buff+ just having any of the advance crew out + bullets)
35%damage buff(bullseye+revenge) vs 45% damage buff(revenge+bullseye+pirate style)
50% mastery vs 70%mastery from the extra mastery from captain's dignity
55% critical rate on all skills (critical roar 1st job+full metal jacket 3rd job) vs 45%critical on just boat/25% on every other skill.

other stuff Justice gives us;
There's also the matter of captain's dignity giving us a final attack that does 70%damage 100% of the time. (So about 1,000 hits per minute)

Each one of the crew members that we summon can gives us a different buff, so we can either have 10%critical damage boost, 10% critical chance boosted, or 20% hp/mp added along with the 30atk we get from just having any of them out.

Also there's double dice in 4th job now so a 50% chance of rolling a second dice means better chance of getting one of the better buffs. Or if lucky enough to get double 5s or 4s mean 30%dmg or 25%crit think was.

Also there's 60% stance now which is nice along with 30% status resistance means less seduce, and so on stopping you.

Plus our mobbing went way up with the new mob skill.
Torpedo; 900% hit 1 time
Fusillade; 590% hit 4 times. For a total of 2360%
Even though Fusillade is about 1.7x slower than torpedo, the damage makes up for it since it's more than double.

Random facts;
55%crit base+self se+critical ring+link skill from phantom = 85%critical chance. Very easy to get 100%critical when have that.
45%damage(bullseye+revenege+pirate style) is what we normally have. It's 65% if roll a 5, and 75% if have double 5s.
lvl100 willpower for 20%status resistance = us having 50% total and means only seduced and so on half the time.

Hopefully this answers a lot of questions and the question won't be asked as much about our DPM improvement.

To sum it up for the lazy people
10% more crit, 10% more damage, main attack is 30% stronger, 100% chance of doing a 2nd hit that does 70%dmg, 40more atk, 20% more mastery, attack a lot faster, better dice, better mobbing, better defense, stance, and one of the summons buffs us and attacks for us.

Improvement

You don't even need to hotkey the skill, it's permanently in your beginner skill book so long as you don't equip anything with the skill again.
@darkmirage: Yes. What you do is, you put on the equip and hot key the skill somewhere on your keyboard. Afterwards, you go inside the pvp room. Once you are inside, you equip something over the decent skill equip then you leave.
Example;
Wearing self se gloves. Hot key to keyboard. Go into pvp battle room area place thingy. Equip your other glove while inside the battle room. Leave room. Should of glitched it like in the past.
Cool beans! Thanks!
Why does pvp even matter? KMS closed it at the moment anyways. Forget which patch it was though.
So for anyone hoping to get decent skills glitched, better hurry.
How do you glitch the decent skills? And do you get to keep them like in the past how there was a glitch to keep the skills?

I like how headshot isn't mentioned at all, useless skill is useless.

I am going to abuse that knock back skill like there's no tomorrow.
The only "nerf" we get is on our octopi because the new one may attack faster but it doesn't ignore 100%DEF like our old ones and you can only summon one NOT three, hopefully we will be able to summon them quicker and hopefully Corsairs will actually use them because they help us kill faster and more conveniently. I wish they would attack without us being close to them though would help a ton more but I'm still happy with the new patch
It's true that octo itself did get nerf, but overall I would say the summons are better for the average corsair.
Since the average corsair don't realize the power of our summons and don't even bother summoning them, they really don't have any excuse not to anymore post revamp.
Only have to summon 1 instead of 3 octos, so no one can really use the excuse of how annoying it is to keep all 3-4 octos up 24/7 during boss fights.
Advance crew gives a free 30atk and random buff for just being summoned so not to summon the crew is just being plain stupid.
Plus you don't need to be near the monster for the summons to attack now like we have be at the moment basically hugging our octos for them to attack.

In terms of DPM,
At the moment if look at it from southperry a huge chunk of it is dependent on summons. After justice though, it's just a small portion which I would consider a good thing, because if have a server lag or anything like with snipe for MM for example it can decrease our DPM if we still relied on summons a lot. Think was like a 600% difference in DPM right now with just a 5second server lag which is pretty big. So I would say that we are less reliant on them is a good thing.

Overall;
Octo is nerfed, but in terms of summons as a whole it's better for us and hopefully sairs will start using them post justice. If they don't at least use the crew during training and boss, I give up on the corsair community.

Seriously, this whole hate the bandwagon stuff is getting old.
There is nothing special about you, me, or anything else that gives us the right to tell other people not to play a job, because they made it for a different reason than us.
Honestly, I welcome the bandwagon with open arms. It would be nice to see other corsairs for once instead of seeing 1 like once a month.
Would be nice to actually find some decent pirate equips in the fm if pirates were more popular.
There is no "class" to spoil. Any job that comes out/revamped will be the new hated job until the next job gets revamped or another job comes out, it's as simple as that.
Seriously, it's like seeing pre BB corsairs saying post BB corsairs suck, and pre chaos sairs saying post chaos sairs suck. It's stupid
Saving for future reference. I hate when people talk about "bandwagonning". Yeah, I had an outlaw at level 102 like a year ago. he was in Arcania (The crappiest server EVER), so now that I heard of that revamp I made a completely new gunslinger in Khaini. Is there anything wrong with that? No.

yeah it does help. thanks. but Umm you know i lvled prof (carfting) today and i noticed my will power lvled
can that be ? does prof rise will power? if it does i guess i can repeatedly learn and unlearn prof till reach lvl 100 will power
I heard that you can possibly do that, seems to cost a lot though. So if have the money to do so then by all means go ahead and get to lvl100 for the extra 2k hp and 20% status resistance.
amazing! well, i already knew all this.
but seing it like this remainds me of how over power am i going to be.
im abit sad for losing connon. but well having the boat as a mount im very happy about it. not to ahve to go out of boat for bullseye then back to boat really did take out dpm down. yet i loved the boat f3 but well pretty sure i'll love the new pirate. great job <33333

Edit. and Lvl 100 will power? gonna take years to get Will powert to lvl 100! if you have good way to rise will power please share!
pqs. Doing dojo before the revamp happens to it and limit the amount of times can enter is the fastest way, but most boring as well.
Probably won't hit 100 before they change dojo, but still be pretty high I'm guessing.
Hope this helps.

@Halfhearted: Final attack works for all the skills as well. So prepare to see burst fire having 4 hits, because of final attack in 4th job.
Eh, to me a flat % would be more like rapid fire 400%, not 300%+70%. It kind of crossing that line to me like with mercedes where it's dual hurricane for mercedes being 110%x2 which equals the same as BM's 220% x1. Overall it's the same, but once start getting higher up there in funds it makes a difference that it's a different hit.

@PhoenixShots: Like said, not really going into exact #s of DPM. I'll leave that to the experts in southperry, if you want to do it then go ahead that would be great. More made this thread for just more of an overview of how exact it's a buff compare to now than the actual #s itself.
You know JoeTang on SP already had all of this calculated theoretically
You know that shows nothing but dps and provides very little insight on the actual changes
You know how many basil'ers actually read SP

Yeah, I know. I'm not trying to calculate exact DPM or anything like that obviously as can tell. This is more of an overview of the buffs we get and why we are stronger since we get basically the same question of "are sairs good bossers post justice/are they nerfed because no boat" a lot in the slinger threads when the answer was been answered already a bunch of times all in different threads which are usually right on top of each other and the people are to dumb/lazy to just look it up.
Like said before, it's not exact DPM or anything like that, because well...rather leave that to southperry and everything since I like that site a lot, especially more than here.
This is just an overview of the buffs is all

@Halfhearted: Eh true, but at the same time feel as though shouldn't be added as a flat 70% increase as well considering it's a completely different hit.

Will the skills on previously passed skills such as like battleship cannon be passed on to some other random skill with the same maxed mastery level?

Seeing this makes me more excited for the revamp

I don't think i'm going to be capping/training hardcore on my corsair until the revamp comes; I want to train with these skills to 200
Thanks a lot for this!
Wow. It's nice seeing the stats side-by-side.
I'm strongly tempted to keep this bumped in the event it doesn't happen naturally (IE: not done by me).

You might wanna add a quick summary at the bottom for the many, many people who are too lazy to read on the internet.

Off topic: why the heck is t.l;dr (without the dot) censored?
Thanks for the tip
Just kind of tired of having like 5 different threads asking about DPM difference between now and justice when the same question/answer was right there and all had to do is click on it instead of making entirely new thread. Copying and pasting the same thing a bunch of times gets annoying. Hopefully this will somewhat stop it or at least make it a lot easier for me to copy and paste to like 10 threads that are all right next to each other asking the same thing...

it's like everything you'd ever want to know about post revamp with numbers and everything (saves me from having to stalk your post )
thanks jamesyyy~
Just realized how OP corsairs sound if we get double 5s and enough critical buffs.
70%mastery, 75%damage with double 5s, possible 100%critical, the Strongest hurricane in game, free 80atk, 100%activation final attack....
Oh well, bring on the bandwagon. We need some people to have corsairs so that phantoms can copy our rapid fire
