@dimo: Yeah, I figured it's a joke, and I agree that a lot of people blame it on genetics, but some people actually are obese due to genetics (I'm not overweight, not anywhere close to it).

The tax is obviously a joke, my point is that too many people blame being overweight on genetics, when in reality they are just lazy.

Wouldn't it be easier to just make the entrance to mcdonalds and the others into an obstacle course? That sounds much more reasonable than this petition.

Weight is one of the few human aesthetics that can rightfully be shamed. The majority of fat people don't HAVE to be fat. It's something that really can be changed with a bit of effort, unlike height or proportion or what have you.
It's a harsh statement, but to the overweight people offended by fat shaming: lose weight. Otherwise grow thicker skin; western society thinks fat is gross and that's not going to change.
