I download and put it on a NAS (Network Access Storage, works like an external but can serve files/media), then whenever my cousins or other anime fans come over and want to watch something they just browse and hit it themselves.
It's available online as well, but only to limited IPs I set
It's less computer intensive to serve 720p h.264 compared to say 1080p BD.
I download all the anime I watch and save it. But i download it in 720p and encode it
I only keep my 18+ stuff...
I don't see the point of keeping an episode you've already seen. In the small chance you want to rewatch it, can't you just redownload it?
But what if there's and apocalypse? WE NEED TO SAVE THE ANIME FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO ENJOY!
I save what I like or what I want to use for making Tumblr gifs and such. I got like 10 TB of storage anyway so I don't particularly care. I think half a TB alone is Pokemon episodes already though.
Why not store it in Drop box or Cloud Storage?
Because uploading it takes a lot of time, and it's technically against the terms of services to have such files in your dropbox. Besides, Dropbox still stores it on your computer so if you don't want that you'd have to download the files from Dropbox again when you want to watch them. And one year of 1TB on Dropbox will cost you more than an external hard drive anyway.
Why not store it in Drop box or Cloud Storage?
i prefer to just stream them on hd on crunchyroll premium oh ya!
i always keep my shows i have friends who dont always have internet or just dont keep up with anime that ask me for series all the time also some series mostly older ones are a pain to find in decent quality
Try 'zipping' the series or store it on cloud (Eg: Google Drive / Dropbox)
Investing in an external hard-drive won't cost you that much. Try looking up models on Amazon or your local stores
1TB External HD I save EVERYTHING, when it will get full, Buy an Extra 1TB xD
I always delete after I watch. If I like the series after three episodes then I simply buy it then finish watching the rest of the series. Streaming is a bit different since im paying for the service so I have no issues with watching the entire series since I can always buy it on BD if its good and complete.
Download and keep on an external drive, just in case I want to watch it again or someone asks me for the series. + Quality
I keep the series that I enjoyed, partly because I love to rewatch stuff, and partly because it's a good list of things that I've seen and enjoyed if I want to recommend things to other people. If it's a series I really enjoyed, I go back and download it in a higher quality once I'm sure that there's a higher quality version available.
Not everyone watches anime during all of their free time.
I don't either but a very key selling point of streaming is being able to have access of having a large variety of content on many devices easily. Having everything on an external drive that's hooked up to a home server allows for me to access it anywhere in my house. And if I'm out on a road trip or flight which I tend to do a few times a year, I'm able to stream from my drive while keeping good quality and also saving on data consumption.
i usually delete them, but for some reason i kept every g-reco episode? lol
it doesn't make sense because obviously i'll want the BR batch later so i might as well delete and just get better quality of shows i actually want to keep when they're available. unless they get a US release that isn't from Sentai.
also once in the middle of the season i tend to keep episodes one week so i remember where i stopped
Streaming doesn't always have the best quality. Would rather have everything on an external drive so I can access it from anywhere at great quality.
OT: I download everything and keep it because I'm an e-hoarder.
Not everyone watches anime during all of their free time.
I store everything in Google Drive accounts. I don't like when they clutter my desktop. It's really nice since I can watch it from even my phone.
On the topic of DL vs stream....
I only download fully aired series. Downloading an episode at a time is tedious on sites like nyaa
Maybe if this was like 2003 I would download.
This is why i invest in a 1 TB external HD
Streaming is easier for me.
I only save movies.

Redownloading old anime is a chore sometimes

Save because hard drives are cheap af.
i have an external hardrive, so i put all the bd's on there
ive been keeping seasonal anime too but i delete them once in a while
I only save the ones I enjoy
I delete after I watch them. Then when the series ends, if it's good, I'll download the batch and stuff it on an external.
