Red update Buccaneer

Does anyone else feel a bit let down? I mean i know there were changes here and there and we got a boost but nothing of what i saw was a BIG overhaul like the other explorers cosmetic wise anyway.. i guess im just tired of orange o.o

Be grateful? As if i have to knee down for a flash jump its more like finally, i can complain all i want since i stuck with a class for a full year when it WAS weaker than a support class and no im not leaving it i love the buccaneer class. Im not sure if youre being harsh or what but calling my thread stupid in its own right is stupid especially when you dont go in depth as to what we have gain on this "ultimate adventurer revamp". Now, damage and mobility aside i see a lot of controversial skills for example: We still have dragon strike but can now use bucc blast without charge< unless for range i dont see the point to this at all, we still get landlubber blast (WHY ITS USELESS), Corkscrew has lost its rush-like ability and double spiral no longer has a semi cd making corkscrew useless (why?), and finally time leap still does neither A) have a shorter cd or B) reset hyper skill cd again not improving a skill. You can sit there and insult my thread but if youre going to do so i expect you to DISCUSS as to why you think so, that is the point of the thread. Damage and mobility aside im just not impressed with our overall "huge explorer boost".

Here's the thing... other than mobility and a little bit of damage, Buccaneers didn't need all that much. Most of their skills have relatively new animations (so they don't need major updates), they are already very powerful compared to other Adventurers and the only real drawback for the class is it's lack of mobility via a flash jump-like skill. So, that's what they got in this update.

However, the problem is that, when people see a revamp like this, they expect all the classes to get equal boosts to power and all get brand new, flashy things. The Brawler class on the whole already has a lot of flash with their moves and the small overall changes create a good bit of variety. All of the moves you could use without energy charge now have an amped version when the charge is active. On the flipside, all the moves you could only use with Energy Charge active can now be used charge-less. Honestly, how many times have you been about to fire off an Energy Blast or Buccaneer Blast just to have the charge run out just as you're pushing the button? It's kind of a kick in the pants, really.

- Minor touches in Chaos/Big Bang
- Revamp in RED
- Big revamp in Justice

[b]Warriors, Mages and Bowman[/b]

- Minor touches in Chaos/Big Bang
- Medium revamp in Jump!
- Revamp in Eternal
- Revamp in Champion
- Minor Revamp in Justice (for some classes)
- Big overhaul in RED

Now tell me Grawp77, do you have the right to complain after I listed the revamps that occur since BB? Of course you don't.

I am lookin forward to it, mostly for improved mobility as I assume would be what most buccs want the most. I know that is all I really care for. They also are getting some good small improvements here and there that we could really use. We already had out huge revamp and I am pretty happy the way things are atm. I do wish charge would last a bit longer or charge faster, but I really only need the mobility. It's killing me inside. The only thing I don't like is that in nexons lil world, buccs don't punch but they create tornados and I really hate it. I don't understand it. Maybe TB but...buccs...i want to punch like I used to :{ not smack but punch. i loved to just punch the air ;[

I still want Stun Mastery and ShockW- Excuse me, [i]Landlubber Blast[/i], to be removed or at least modified to be worth a dang. That's probably the only thing I'm not satisfied with. I've actually come to like what they've done with the Energy Charge change (although 98% stance is a bit silly).

I laugh at people that wanted RED to make bucc get the same revamp as thunder breaker. People complain about jett being a reskin, but it's okay for bucc to become a reskin of thunder breaker?

There are a lot of boost for buccaneers as what I've seen on kms and some video. all bucc needs is mobility and now they decided to fulfill us with bucc having octojump and now you're complaining? that's just plain stupid. be grateful and just play the game and, if you don't like it then stop playing it easy as that, there's no need to get on basil to complain this lame stuff.

unity of power stacks 3x giving 10% min and max crit dmg, so its 30%
power isnt on and off its always charging always spending on attacks.
flash jump
and full energy gives dragon strike, bucc blast, and octopunch a 20% dmg buff, im satisfied. Sure a reskin on energy charge would of been nice but o wellz. xD

Thunder Breaker revamp - Combo's and chaining skills/uses all skills from jobs 1st to 4th job so you can link them together, no mastery books.
Buccaneer RED revamp - No new skills, just a bigger laser and a flash jump/skills from earlier jobs (Tornado Upper/SSK) Are never/rarely used. Dragon Strike animation hasn't been touched
I think I know what class im going to choose

NOBODY use the "well thieves and pirates got Mutiny and the big thief revamp". Because if you look over the course of Maple history, pirates and thieves still have a lower total of overhauls compared to the other classes.

OT: the mobility is good. I kinda wish we got a overhaul like the archers/warriors/mages, but honestly pirates aren't all that bad right now.
Thieves on other hand, they got it bad.

it probably wouldn't bother me as* bad if they didn't make bucc blast or cannon attacks have a longer range than archers which seems wrong to me. i'd like to keep dragon strike our main mobbing and seems slightly faster than bucc blast. I really REALLY hope we get either some more passives or melee attacks 5th job

Yeah, I'm hoping 5th job will fix this. I believe Buccaneers should be deadly close/medium ranged fighters beating everything into oblivion,
...Instead of shooting massive powerful beams everywhere.
The lasers do make up for our lack of attack range, (you have to be literally in front of a monster to hit them with Octopunch.)
But it's kind of sad to see our only melee skills are Somersault Kick, Corkscrew Blow, Double Spiral, Octopunch, and maybe Energy Blast?

I'm hoping for more kicks!

I'm happy we FINALLY got some mobility but i was kind of disappointed that we got more laser moves than we did get skills that looked like an actual fighting style. But i'd have to play it to find out if i really liked it or not

The RED update was a bigger if not equal DPS boost vs mutiny, which is nothing compared to giving buccaneers [b]two[/b] movement options to escape death vs their current [b]zero[/b]. Buccaneers are already viable for 150%+ PDR bosses, being the only class in the entire game after RED that can ignore 100% of PDR. They're one of 7ish classes to solo chaos vellum for a reason.

If you are trying to say its our turn youre wrong considering we went almost a full year on the bottom of the dps charts even below bishops.

And im not saying it wasent a big help but i guess i let my expectations grow too high and now the update seems underwhelming regardless ill be playing i love buccaneer.

I watched videos and was impressed. The only RED class that made me say "Whoa, I want to play that" by simply looking at videos.
A KMS Basiler talked about it and was impressed.

Play the upgrades first, then complain if you are still not satisfied.

Its a pretty decent update and Buccaneers still get a damage boost.
While there were not drastic changes as there were for Warriors, Mages, and Archers, RED still improves buccaneers.

1. Mobility. Octojump and Double Spiral makes us much more mobile.
(Double Spiral moves us even if there are no mobs around. The Delay of Double Spiral is decreased in RED.)
2. Energy Charge now gives us half of its effects as a passive boost. That's a free 25 attack just for hitting Lv 100, not to mention 49% stance. <3
3. Buccaneer Blast can now be used without Energy Charge. Big damage boost toward mobs, especially with all of its hyper buffs.
Oh and Double Blast has an AMAZING ATTACK RANGE.
4. Energy Charge doesn't go away in 60 seconds. Yep. We get a new Energy charge UI. Once our Energy is full, it stays full until you use all your Energy up.
(Octopunch consumes 150 Energy per use.)
5. Unity of Power now provides a buff to our min/max critical damage when used. This is VERY useful, as it increases our min/max crit damage by 30%.
6. Octopunch has a new animation when your Energy is charged. You barely see the transformed spirit.

Look at all the positives of RED for buccaneers. That mobility boost was expected, but the changes to the Energy System and the damage boost were additional pluses!
Let's not forget that Buccaneers have Typhoon Crush for end games bosses with high PDR. Useful skill.
