@Leto: Hmmm, I respect your point and I didn't mean to be raging lol. My point is over the internet you are able to assume a different persona. Obviously in your case you are very open minded, however on the internet/maplestory you are only able to present SPEECH and the occasional F1-F7 faces. In real-life you convey expression; meaning, in what you do, say, etc. It is a completely different situation from a conversation when you're breaking up with your girlfriend on the beach - for example - to a conversation of breaking up with your girlfriend outside PYPQ.
@myrdrex: EXACTLY what I'm talking about ... You see, you say 'moral question' and all this stuff, what, do you think you have an IQ of 190 and try to act smart and logical because you're on the internet? And how you act online says NOTHING about your character; the internet is a COMPLETELY different place to the 'real world', it is not a comparison to judge the two. I couldn't care less about an 'old saying' - again, what I am talking about, you're not the wise man from the west; stop kidding yourself.
No one is writing a book. The TS had a moral question and asked for opinions, and I shared.

Besides, how you act online says a lot about your character. No one is a good and decent person at heart, yet comes online and lies cheats and steals from others.

It's like the very old saying- If the person you're dating is nice to you, but mean to the waiter- they are NOT a kind person. Alternately- We're ALL safe and slow drivers when a cop's behind us!

It's how you act when you think you'll never get caught that defines the type of person you are. Your behavior online is an excellent representation of that true character.

but this is maple
you cant get sent to court
they cant harm you
the only way he could get it back is persuasion or threatening which doesnt seem to be working
I totally agree- there is no recourse here other than:
A) Appealing to the TS's sense of right vs. wrong. If his parents failed so terribly that he doesn't known right vs. wrong, then it's pathetic.
B) Trying to coerce them (which, in its own way, is almost as reprehensible as the TS's actions).

The only reason I started talking about real-world similar scenarios is to show that in real life, society fully recognizes that the TS was in the wrong- even our legal system (and European law) recognize that.

However, when you're online, some people fail as human beings. They suddenly think that because a fellow person is not in front of them, they can act in a horrible manner. That's simply quite pathetic and shows that their parents failed terribly to raise a decent person that has the ability to function in modern society.
Ummm... with that rule someone tried to scam me irl so I guess they have the obligation of selling for the price it says.
That's the exact opposite of what I said.

I am explicitly stating that no one is ever under an obligation to sell to someone else for a mistaken price.

It's actually one of the few concepts of contract law that can invalidate a contract. (Yes, we studied this extensively in my business law classes).
You can break a contract for:
1) Mistake (The bank accidentally types in 500% interest on your loan on 1 of the sheets instead of 5%)
2) Misrepresentation (You lied about what the item was)
3) Undue influence (You had too much influence over them- your lawyer tricking you into signing a contract, for example)
4) Durress (You held them at gunpoint to sign the contract).

Look at your Sunday ads you get today. You'll see fine print talking about how they have the right to not sell at any of those prices if there was a mistake.
You are wrong, since legally if you see something with a price tag of 10$ and on the computer it appears at 15$ but they forgot to change the tag, they need to sell it to you for the price tag.
Not true at all. They are under absolutely no legal obligation whatsoever if the thing was mis-priced. Now most places will honor it because they don't want to lose a customer, but by no rights are they obligated to sell it to you.

Don't you remember that big fiasco with Best Buy a little while back accidentally allowing orders online for some stupidly low priced TV? (Like a $50 56 inch LCD TV or something insane like that). They apologized and canceled the orders, even after they had been placed.

Now, you can make a case from a customer satisfaction standpoint- which is why most grocery stores and such won't argue if the $5 pound of hamburger rings up for $3. But when you're talking big ticket items, all those Sunday flyers have a lot of fine print on them- read it.
He obviously made a mistake- it's like if you're a cashier and someone gives you a $100 thinking they only gave you a $10. Morally (and legally in the real world) you're obligated to give them the correct change back.

So the right thing to do is to sell it back to him.

However... this case does take that interesting turn in that he immediately threatens you. I think that he basically forfeited whatever moral/Karam rights he had to get his bow back by instantly resorting to threats.
irl they would never say what they say in this game.

I suggest that you keep the bow, it was his fault and your not going to gain anything by giving it back. He might d/c you or ks you but he will forget about it eventually.

It's not like he can report you for scamming. It's his fault for not checking the price before uploading the item. And by the way, you got yourself a good deal!
