Plural for Octopus

It's octopodes.
Except you have to say it with a British accent. No lie.

All three terms, Octopi, Octopuses, and Octopodes, are technically correct. It's just personal preference. If you want to sound pretentious, constantly saying octopodes is a wonderful way to meet your goal.

I thought octopuses and octopi were accepted, but octopodes was like

Octopus is the plural. Its octo[b]PI[/b] thats singular

That is one plural. Usually people say octopuses, which is also correct, being the english plural instead of the greek octopodes. And how would the British say it?
