To my knowledge, it's additive, but it doesn't add. Whatever's the highest amount counts.

Pretty sure ambition doesn't work like that.
In any case, you can't reach no exp loss per death with any combination of ambition, skills, monster life, or character cards.

it's -5% of what you lose.
so say i lose 14bill exp for 5%, i'll save 700mil exp from just the ambition alone.
so 13.3bil exp still lost.
