Oh man, logarithms...forgotten how to do it already.

x^b = 25 = 5^2
x^(b/2) = 5 ---> logx 5 = b/2
then logx(9/5)
= logx 9 - logx 5
= 2a - b/2
= (4a-b)/2
I'm not sure I remember logarithms that well though. This might not be what you're looking for, but this is what I remember.[/quote]
