Coming back

Hi, I haven't played in a couple of years. I can't remember my account info for my bishop but I do for my 145 BM on Zenith. A couple of questions.... is Zenith dead? If so should I start over on another server and if Zenith isn't dead any active guilds want to help me get back into the game? Thanks!

Eh, Zenith is kinda dead but there are rumors of world merges coming although there wasn't a date given for when that will happen. But if you decide to stick with zenith, the guild I'm in, Tune, will be happy to help you. so just go ahead and apply.

It's fairly easy getting to 14x now, takes a day if not a week if you take your sweet ass time.

Some of the smaller servers have merged, such as Zenith in GAZED. Most populated servers are probably Scania and Windia

To get you back up to speed:
December 2009:
Release of the 1st "Legend" class, Aran. A warrior who wields a mighty polearm. The Legend classes were the ones who defeated and sealed the Black Mage long ago.

March 2010:
Release of the 2nd Legend class, Evan. A mage who uses its dragon to attack enemies.

June 2010:
Release of hidden potential and equipment enhancement.
Hidden potential adds additional status under your equipment such as increasing STR/DEX/INT/LUK by a certain %, increasing your total ATT by a certain %, increasing boss damage by a certain %, etc. When an item first gets potential, it'll have crappy potential. To get better potential, you use "Red or Black cubes" in the cash shop.

Equipment enhancement allows you to further improve your equipment's stats after it has used up all scroll slots. Each successful enhancement gives a yellow star at the top of your equipment. The more stars you have, the less successful tahe next enhancement will be. If it fails, it'll generally destroy your equipment.

December 2010 - Big Bang:
Map layout of almost every single map changed to become more user-friendly. User interface theme changed. Levels of many monsters changed.
Release of the "Resistance" branch of classes. The city of Edelstein has fallen under control of the Black Wings (Black Mage supporters), so the Resistance formed as a result. They consist of the Wild Hunter (crossbowman who rides on a jaguar), Battle Mage (melee-style mage), and Mechanic (a pirate that rides a mech robot to attack. Don't ask me why that qualifies as a pirate class).

June 2011 - Chaos:
The Profession system replaced the Maker system and completely overhauled crafting. Now you can learn Alchemy to brew potions, Jewel Crafting to make accessories, and Smithing to make weapons & armor.
Release of Corrupted Empress Cygnus and her Chief knights as bosses that drops the then-endgame-worthy Lv140 Empress armor/weapons.
Aran & Evan got their much needed buffs.

Fall 2011 - Ascension:
Bunch of new PQs released, old ones revamped.
Explorer warriors/archers/mages got buffed slightly.

Winter 2011 - Legends:
Release of Cannon Shooter (3rd Adventurer pirate class), Mercedes (3rd Legend class who's an Archer that uses dual bowguns), Demon Slayer (Resistance warrior that uses Demon Force to attack with the dark element)

Summer 2012 - Renegades:
Release of Phantom (4th Legend class who's a Thief that can steal any Explorer classes' skills and use it as his own).
Explorer thieves and pirates got buffed slightly.

Winter 2012 - Tempest:
Release of Luminous (5th Legend class who's a Mage that uses light and dark magic).
Release of the "Nova" branch of classes: (Kaiser = A 2h sword Warrior with a dragon theme. Angelic Buster = A Barbie who was the most OP class ever made at the time because they were the only class to be able to break the damage cap of 999k).

Spring 2013 - Mark of Honor:
Release of previously JapanMS exclusive classes = Hayato (a samurai) and Kanna (an okami-themed Mage who uses fans to attack)

Late Spring 2013 - Cygnus Returns:
Dawn Warrior/Wind Archer/Thunder Breaker completely overhauled. Their max level cap raised to 200 from 120.
*Blaze Wizard and Night Walker got their overhaul more recently.

Summer 2013 - Unleashed:
Damage cap raised to 50,000,000 from 999,999. Damage range cap increased to 2,000,000 from 1,000,000 (however the damage range cap is only visual; upgrading even after 2M-2M range will boost your damage). Level cap of all classes increased to 250 from 200.
Huge HP/ATT buff to all bosses. Release of Lv140+ Hyper Skills for ALL classes to (sorta) accommodate the buff. Peak of the pay2win theme.
Release of Xenon (Resistance Pirate/Thief hybrid class with a cyborg theme) and Demon Avenger (2nd Resistance warrior who uses HP to attack with the dark element).
Release of Root Abyss and Chaos Root Abyss where its bosses drop Lv150 armor/weapons. These replaced Empress armors/weapons as the new (and still currently used as) endgame equips.

Winter 2013 - RED:
Complete overhaul of all Explorer classes. Release of the 'Zero' class, a tag-team 2h-sword warrior class where you control 2 characters.
Various stuff implemented to make the game significantly less pay2win since Nexon realized they screwed up with the Unleashed update. (i.e. You can now craft cubes. They were previously only obtainable via the Cash Shop).

Summer 2014 - Rising Heroes
Release of Shade, the 6th and final Legend class who's a pirate with a spirit theme (don't ask me why that makes him a pirate class)

Fall 2014
Blaze Wizard & Night Walker completely overhauled. Their max level cap raised to 250 from 120.

Winter 2014 - Star Force
New enhancement system released that's much cheaper and has a much higher success rate overall than the old one. It also increased the amount of stats you gain per star on normal equips (superior equips like Tyrants and the attack bonus on weapons are unchanged). Kudos to Nexon as this is another step towards closing the gap between the rich and the poor.
Release of Star Planet. Basically a separate world where the main gameplay is a bunch of mini-games
Reward Points introduced. You can use these to buy most items in the Cash Shop Earned through activities such as killing bosses, doing party quests, doing mini-games in Star Planet, etc.

Spring 2015 - Black Heaven
A new high level dungeon that leads to the hardest boss currently in MapleStory.

In between all these patches, numerous new areas and its respective monsters, quests, and miscellaneous bosses were released. Existing monsters got buffed and rebuffed a few times as well (EX: Robos in Ludibrium were around Lv60 around the time you quit, now they're Lv100).
