Why arent you lifting basil?
Not only do you feel more alpha than the next guy but you do something that pushes your body to limits that others can only dream about.
And yes this is a self-appreciation thread that only adds to my ego.

No excuses, I'm being a little girl right now. I miss lifting.
@casey, on paper my max is 290 lb but this was calculated with an underestimate devikation and considering i squat 3x a week all 225 and i am currently doing 275 for reps on my heavy day give or take 295 ~ 300 lb. Bench 210 deadlift 275 bw 140 5'10
I'm questioning your ability to bench 210 at 140lbs, but if you're telling the truth that's extremely impressive.
@Squeezy Only since the summer? If you keep this up for the next several years consistently you'll be beast mode.
Every 3 months or so you should switch up your routine, experiment with pyramiding down and pyramiding up.
Also here's an amazing exercise, meet the overhead squat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwdbcfyk2ng Don't do this unless you're absolutely comfortable with it and until your form is perfect, start with just the bar. But if you use good, safe technique, it's extremely beneficial.
there are only so many exercises I can do at my local gym.
For example: My gym is located on the 2nd floor and they do not tolerate banging of the weights. I got a warning for deadlifting my pr and dropping the weight.
In other of my videos you will rarely see me touch the floor while deadlifting or dropping any type of weights.
Something about my bones.
I can't/shouldn't be lifting until I finish growing.
Doctor's orders.
Makin' all kindzzzzzz of gainz!
What's your maxes? Bench, OHP, Squat, deadlift, etc?
@Squeezy Are you doing compounds to help with your explosiveness while running track? What are your goals? How long have you been lifting for? Are you going to add any isolation's into your routine eventually?
@metaghost4 Working out is a lifestyle change, and you have to want it otherwise you'll always start for a bit then end up giving up. It probably feels like a chore to you.
Aside from C+J and snatches no. If there are other exercises other than plyometrics tell me.
Only set goal for me is 300+ squat and run faster.
And yeah i do actually do isolation. I just don't care much to film and check form.
only started lifting during the summer. I lifted before but my progress was terrible when I worked out at school. I can still remember barely doing 135 squat and 85 bench.
@boss: Yeah makes sense. will try next time.
@SomeJello: yeah im just kidding. I don't go around the gym with my chest inflated asking other members if they lift or not. Basil tends not to respond when threads are strictly fitness related.
@lmbored: yo can you spot me for curls. I'm located in the only squat rack in the gym.
shut up. it does
any I've only been doing cleans for a few days. But no I'm pretty sure there isn't any deformity it's just terrible flexibility. The higher i raise my elbows the farther my hand gets behind my head.

Gotta have your elbows in, your wrists to the outside, and when you're approaching the rack position, it should simply be resting on your fingertips; your front delts should be taking nearly all of the impact. Your wrist would also be more flexible with some weight stretching it, by the way, like I wouldn't be able to have my fingers back there without some weight.
Alpha emissions can kill.
Your back starts looking bent in the later reps, or is that just me?
I think it's just you.
@kare Post a picture of yourself, otherwise continue making snide anonymous remarks over the internet if it makes you feel better about yourself.
Lol, unless you have a clavicle deformity or nonexistent front delt insertions, I think you'll be fine. How long have you been trying to nail the form?
By the way, lifting does not necessarily equate to being alpha, but it could increase self-esteem if physique is important to you.
@lmbored: oh sorry misread.
But yeah I feel exactly the same about straps. If i can't grip 225 without it slipping to my fingertips I shouldn't be deadlifting.
Your back starts looking bent in the later reps, or is that just me?
How much do you weigh?
In your overhead press video how much weight is that?
Overall - nice form, keep it up! It's always great to see lifters on Basil.
You should make a benching video too.
lol no. too embarrassed about benching. Currently only at 155.
5'10 @ 144lbs. Been really inconsistent with eating and basic nutrition ever since school started.
OHP: nothing really impressive. I think in the video it was 75. Stopped ever since I hit 95 because of shoulder problems.
@lmbored: Considered wrist straps just for deadlifts. But at the same time I've seen too many gifs of people who use straps and do clean and jerk and like basically die from a failed lift.
@kare: Nah I've recently been doing eyelid curls and cheekbone overhead bench. I did it after vid so it probably changed.
yeah i got the jiz of it not long ago.
In the video: no forearm flexibility; basically deadlifting the bar because it was still light; gripping the bar when racking rather than using fingers.
i'd hate to resort to this but would putting one of those pads on the bar help with anything?
@Cursarius: right. keyboard warriors are more alpha. alpha beta gamma
btw i don't lift
I can squat 265 with ease and I don't use weights. I gave up going to gym and lift weights. ALL ABOUT THAT BARS AT THE PARK AND AT HOME.
You have to raise your elbows higher; bringing up your elbows means beinging up your front delts to prevent the bar from hitting your collarbone.
Also, I'm not sure if you have an issue with it, but it does seem like your wrist flexibility could use some work.
I don't lift. I keto. Bacon is better.
@Squeezy: Physically you don't see alpha in my eyes, and yes I lift but I'll admit it's nothing fancy. By the by I don't need to lift in order to think whether you're alpha or not.
Alpha, huh? And you're the dude on the video?
If you're not alpha I don't know what is!
yes i do consider myself alpha. why? Larger girth, squat 265, probably bench your squat.
do you even lift?
Alpha, huh? And you're the dude on the video?
If you're not alpha I don't know what is!
i dont want muscles
Is this dead lift or ? And i see so many people doing this. What is this good for?
power cleans. good for explosions. scary as heck though.
i remember doing these for the first time and dropping 85 lbs on my knee
Good job, now clean your body weight.
will do eventually.
vid is just form check and because i like to watch myself lift.
Because packs of basil are really light?
cause i need to wait till december till i can go to my school's weight room
