Who is the sage of six paths and how does he play in the storyline. My friend told me he was the origin of everything? o-O

The Sage of Six Paths is the creator of Ninjutsu, he had the Rinnegan eyes, the strongest ocular jutsu (they're the purple-ish eyes with white spirals). He also was the one who fought the Jubi (Ten Tails) and defeated him (I think thus creating the rest of the Tailed Beasts (Biju))... He is the creator of the "Ninja Arts" and his descendants are basically the Senju (Pre-Hidden Leaf) and the Uchiha
