Talk about Greek Mythology
Who here likes Greek Mythology? C'mon, I'm sure someone out there likes it?
Who\'s your favorite god/goddess? I like Hermes and Athena myself.
What\'s your favorite story? I love the Odyssey.
Just discuss Greek Mythology here! I would love it if some people out there loved it too.

I'm more accustomed to Greek names rather than Roman...
It's got some interesting stories but Norse mythology is a lot better, it's not watered down like Greek is
I love the story of Sisyphus man he inspired me to apply myself in school man now i can really find the positive aspects in what i once considered futile and hopeless labor man life no longer seems like a futile endeavor man i'm no longer pushing that rock up the hill only to have it tumble down man

That's kind of how I was introduced, lol.
I don't have a favorite god. Only one that i thought was cool was ares.
^ Ya i liked the new series as well. They actually were able to incorporate the roman gods with out ruining anything. I wonder if they are gonna tell the story about whats going on/happened with percy or just meet up with and be like hey? I also really like the new character jason i think he is more bad ass than percy.

(book not movie)
OMG i love that book. I have read every single one and bought them the day they were released (except first 2). But ya the movie was garbage and a total let down.

Come to my house and bring popcorn?

or more likely a proto-religion
Apparently no one likes Dionysus, the god of wine, parties, and discord!
I like all of Greek and Roman history, and therefore all of the myths that follow them. I liked how Athena was born...Zeus gave birth to her by himself through his mind...magic! Or how Apollo chased after a nymph and her father turned her into a laurel tree for protection, but Apollo still had his way with the tree due to curse he was under. He then wore that laurel as a victory (I'm adding that part in, but yeah, the laurel tree that she became was the one that is laurels came from! ) or how the "milky way" was created by Juno's breast milk. Myth <3
fave god/ess- Apollo and Artemis. Im an archer in real life, love the moon.. yadda yadda yadda.
What's really interesting is how Greek/Roman/Egypt/Hindu/etc religions kinda correlate. Like Hathor, Egyptian goddess of motherhood and beauty is a close parallel to The Greek's Aphrodite. Isis like Hecate, Apollo like Ra, Kali like Gaia, etc etc etc.
Proof of their existance
not really interested in the actual stories. more so into the physical idols, relics and the history of old religiones after the conversion of constantine

Those were awesome books XD
Shame i've only read 1 and 3... lol
OT: If i had to pick a favourite god, it would probably be... Poseidon. Simply because i read Percy Jackson. XD

The Lost Hero dragged out a bit too much, but then the cliffhanger came along and I got frustrated because I don't want to sit through another too-long book just because I want to know what happens!
-rage-
I raged at that cliffhanger, I'm just glad that I live near a Borders bookstore.
I need a new series for the meantime though ;~;
Ovid's Metamorphoses is the bomb.
I've worked with plays in the Oresteia, but that's about all I know. I find the Atreus family line interesting.
i just like the shorter stories and such, mostly involving gods/demigods, etc. Odyssey and Iliad are overdone for me so i don't like them as much.
Apollo, Artemis, Athena are all pretty cool and Hera/Zeus is fun for that drama.
I'm a bigger fan of Welsh mythology, sorry
