A lot looks like it's changed but it really hasn't.
There are more options to get higher range. Learn about link skills, and potentials if you don't already know. The rest I kind of just figured out by reading patch notes or youtubing certain bosses (like Gollux)
i'm in the same boat! i actually just installed maple. thinking of trying out a phantom. been a fan of maple since 2005, but this game is still very broken it seems.
There's been so much new content in the past few years and honestly if you haven't tried any of it out yet you can easily find yourself busy for hours trying some of the newer classes and quests out. You have to do friendstory if you plan on trying new quests! It is by far the best questline that has been implemented as it is like a one player story mode with a fun story line
