Elixirs and Power Elixirs no longer drop
Just to inform everyone that there is no good way to obtain power elixirs any more as of the current patch and last SC. Elixirs no longer drops either but you can 1. get 100 daily via Grandpa Boss's etc drop and 2. it's easily replaceable with Ginger Ales from NLC. But for bossing (especially places with pot CD like Empress), power elixir is unbeatable. So save your power elixirs for bossing and such (and merchants will start selling them for a lot I'm guessing).
Edit: some monsters still have a (very low) chance to drop 1 untradeable power elixir, but it's fairly rare.

And why shouldn't they be easy to obtain in the first place? If it's too difficult to obtain them, no one would use them. 99% of Final Fantasy players don't use Megalixirs for that very reason.

There's always Guild Power Elixers every monday. Looks like a good reason to join a guild now.
First the prices of NPCing equips drop, and now I can't sell potions for money. :< At least I still have etc drops, for now.
Btw, Ginger Ales with 30% HP Recovery Potion and Skill should make them equivalent to Power Elixirs, HP wise anyways I'm not sure about MP.
@iaamme: he's... supposed to give scrolls and such as well, gave me GFA 60% a few times

Last I looked Alchemist doesn't work % potions, but it's been a long time since I played my NL (since the release of Mercedes, to be specific).

I was specifically referring to Empress with the potion CD. But it's not like most people are going to run out of power elixirs right away. If anything, this affects the poor more because they could've easily gotten by on elixir drops alone and now they have to spend money on potions.

I remember her only selling things like pure water after completion of her quest chain, but I could be just out-of-date with that information. If you're talking about the one-time quest reward, though, that's not really a sustainable solution.
But yeah, I was updating the monster drop table for my website (it's basically taken directly out of the monster book), the tradeable power elixirs are completely off the drop tables; so it's not rare-r to get it, it's just not possible to get it out of the mobs whose loots are listed in monster book (I'm fairly convinced that the Monster Book drops are taken directly out of the database that servers use to determine drop).
Also, Galloperas don't drop it, I've already tried.

@MagiBombchu: I'm not quite sure about pokemon, but is it because it gets you in battle quite often? You didn't read my post did you? I said many cases, not every case. And also I forgot to mention, I'm only talking about things in Maple.
I also have no idea how FF is so can't really tell, but from my knowledge such RPG doesn't let you heal by keep tapping HP button. It's completely different gaming system. You can't compare that with Maple.
@MagiBombchu: It shouldn't be that easy to obtain such pots in first place. And I believe in many cases annoyance is what makes things challenging.

I thought they fell in value when them NLC pots came. I remember that even regular elixirs used to be so much more expensive
I get tons from events and like 60 guild elixirs every Monday... I drop them if I get too many since they're untradeable though O_O
I don't use pots that often anyway.
I thought people wanted chanllenge? Especially funded people? Or only challenge they wanted is increasing boss' damage & HP?
So they're not dropping on purpose? I was hoping it was another mistake.

If so it's an improvement. It used to be that Elexirs and Power Elexirs were of value in the beginnings of Maple. During the ascend to Big Band they became so over abundant that their value was nearly crap; you received hundreds from events and even more from easy bosses like Pap, Pianus and so on.
Now they at least become of monitory worth for high end bosses like Cygnus and Von Leon.

Pap doesn't drop many pots anymore either. It like only drops reindeer milk now..... I used to make money from NPCing the milk and dews, and repot with the elixirs. Now pap is useless! (other than exp).

so i don't use power elixers, if your strong just ani for them or do events
