Although with all of that said, I never understood the need to only watch anime of the current season rather than going back and watching older ones you might not have seen. I hardly ever keep up upcoming anime series for that reason. I guess it's just me.
there's the problem, you haven't seen them. These hardcore people have, or so they say. So the only anime they have "available" to watch is the current season. If they hate the line up, then i guess they re-watch stuff to get their anime fix.

or at least that's how i see it

People stating several Fall anime are on-going. heh
The ones I am watching-
New:
Noragami
Space Dandy
Tonari no Seki-kun
Nourin (meh, but eh)
Season 2:
Chuunibyou
Seitokai Yakuindomo*
You may like Pupa (The anime isn't good, it just ruined the manga for me. Read that.) or Sakura Trick (GL).

until I get my laptop back I won't have any clue on anything good this season but Chunibyou and Noragami have really caught my eye this season

I'm loving Nisekoi at the moment. Also Hamatora the Animation, Mahou Sensou, and Noragami are good too.

Same here. I'm always behind and watch the older series that my friends have seen ages ago. I also hate waiting for new episodes to come out o.o

I'm assuming you mean anime that started in the last few months (it's winter in certain parts of the world), rather than anime whose plot takes place during snowy/wintery environments.

With that in mind, I find Kill La Kill decently enjoyable. Despite the main character's overly revealing outfit, there are actually some good fights and comedy. I've also heard people saying they like Log Horizon, although I haven't seen it.

Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta, I find this the most interesting so far.
Nagi No Asukara if you include last season's anime which is still airing.

Chuunibyou season 2. Noragami. Tokyo Ravens.
No idea if you like these genres (fantasy, supernatural, romance, comedy)
