Buccaneer

Who else is quitting their Bucc for Striker

They look so much more fun, moblie, flashy, and less KAMEHAMHA spam. I literally play my bucc with my eyes closed.

~closes eyes~ *spams energy blasy*

And that lighting teleportation skill looks sick as hell, i have a thing for cool mobility skills

@Ecyz: 141. Even with a ~20K range boost it would still be under my Buccaneer to me.

I dunno, we'll have to see what happens when FJ comes to our Buccs.

Seems a little weird honestly, what level is your TB?
The real fun happens after level 150 when they get Primal Rage. Boosted my range by nearly 20k with no cooldown.

After playing Striker for a bit, I dunno.

I feel after a Buccaneer gets flash jump they will be the better class again. I mean TB's are more fun, but my Bucc was dealing a lot more damage with the same gears.
Flash was disappointing. I expected chaos lock 2.0. But other than that the class is fun.
I was also disappointed with Flash and it's bizarre delays and lack of range, it has a VERY specific range, hopefully they buff it's area of effect whenever they buff of KOCs again.

I still use it pretty often though, it's fun.
I'm sorry but what is mount canceling specifically?
It's where you use the Super Transformation mount right after a skill to cancel the lag. It only works with the Super Transformation mount.
Try it with Nautilus, it's the easiest skill to see the difference.

New Thunder Breaker looks fun and all, but I'm not quitting my Buccaneer to main one; and the new TBs are definitely not what Buccs should have been.

* Double Spiral + Corkscrew Blow --> Dragon Strike (Mount Cancel)
* Dragon Strike --> Hawkeye's Sharkwave (Mount Cancel)
* Hawkeye's Sharkwave (or Dragon Strike) --> Buccaneer Blast (Mount Cancel)
* Octopunch --> Somersault Kick -- > Corkscrew Blow
* Landlubber Blast --> Corkscrew Blow
* (Jump Cancel: Down) Landlubber Blast off a platform.
* Somersault Kick on a shooting projectile to dodge it.
Didn't know it was possible to mount cancel Dragon Strike/Sharkwave (well, more like I didn't find the need to).
I personally only use mount canceled Nautilus/Buccaneer Blast, Spiral + Corkscrew within Dragon Strikes/Buccaneer Blasts to mob up enemies/mobility, and Somersault Kick as a "dodge button". I also use the jumping Dragon Strike sometimes to get closer to mobs.
@Wolfss: I honestly don't see what's the issue here, given the fact that Buccaneers
originally had the ability to chain combos (but not as smooth as Hayato and
Strikers) and undergo a Transformation (but not as sophisticated as Kaiser).

This is definitely what Buccaneers need! The post-Mutiny gameplay is just far
too boring. You're basically only using Octopunch on one enemy, Dragon
Strike to charge your energy gauge, and spamming Buccaneer Blast until
the energy gauge runs out.

Nevertheless, at this point, Strikers are going to be far more entertaining (to me),
since their gameplay is reminiscent to Buccaneers pre-Mutiny gameplay (which I
enjoyed -- a lot).
If bucc and TB were to have the same system, then what would be the point of playing one or the other? Buccs are perfectly fine how they are except when it comes to mobility...but I like the quirks of being a bucc. I don't want it to be similar to TB. The class is powerful enough and fun to me. I enjoy how it is now. I enjoyed how it was before too. But each had their perks. I don't understand why people even spam blast to be honest. Yeah sure you can stand in one spot and just spam it when training.........or you can increase your mobility and effectiveness by using other skills which is what I do. It all goes down to play styles. If you prefer fancy chain combos then TB is the way to go but that doesn't mean buccs need to be the same way. If you play it right, you won't have a problem with "boring" spam. Does no one else use the other skills to train effectively? I keep hearing about how buccs can only spam one move but that is totally not true at all. I guess it really comes down to how much control you have over your character. If you lack full control of course it is going to seem boring if you just spam until you have to recharge again. There is no fun in that.
I'm basically on the same boat as @superimani

Once the Thunder Breaker revamp comes out in GMS, I'm dropping my Buccaneer
for my Thunder Breaker -- in a heart beat!

Until Nexon incorporates Thunder Breakers skill chaining combo/reward system
and Kaiser Transformation concept, then I won't be coming back to my Buccaneer
any time soon.
So basically until buccs are the same as other classes ?
I agree. There's only like two skills we use. Before we had corkscrew, backspin blow, double uppercut, barrage, the transformation, and now it's just all about the boring blast..
It depends on how much control you gain over your bucc. If you just spam blast of course it will be boring and seem like you are being limited. You can take advantage of many of the skills in order to improve your mobility based on character control and an adopted playing style. You can make training much more interesting and more productive than just going around spamming blast. Using DS and Naut to charge, for example. Using Corkscrew and spiral assault to move faster around the map. Deciding which skill is best to use based on how many monsters are in a mob. Etc Etc. You can make it less boring.
It won't be saved for you people , because what most people want of saving buccs is them being back to their original state , and like I said before that is NOT happening

I didn't say buccs were original ,but neither are strikers

People here care more about animations and using 3 million skills to attack than efficiency and being able to compete with any classes ( 3rd actually )

Also lol @Onetonmien , have you seen the new energy charge aura ? it doesn't have changed color only , it also has an electrical aura now besides the flame

Ed: Ah I see the sparkling animation doesn't appear on the gif of ultra charge , maybe I should make a short vid to show it off
Most people are aware of the dpm charts, but who made a bucc for damage? I made them for the arsenal of skills they formally had, their originality and their flashiness. They no longer have any of that. Sure they are theoretically third place in dpm but if thats what you play this game for OR made the class for... you are doing it wrong, go make a hero.

Why would you not care about animation and a variety of moves? Thats the only thing that really matters. I was still playing buccs when they were dead last on the charts. You dont have to sacrifice the fun factor for dmg. There are plenty of powerful classes that arent boring as hell.

thunder breaker and bucc i made at around the same time i trained them at around the same time i got em both to high levels they are reallly fun i played tb for shark wave it looked to sexy and bucc was just a sick class pre buff and post buff bucc blast was too op but im switching to tb i played bucc for to many years

I was hoping Nexon would remove the damn transformed spirit and maybe add a few combo skills here and there, but RED for Buccs is a real disaapointment. OKay, keep the energy system, but at least make it look up to date. Like come on, DS still looks like s**t for such an epic skill. The energy aura should've been electrical energy surrounding the character instead of some purple @ss flames rofl.
Eh , we also got double spiral turned as a mobility skill and trust me it is godly to combo with the attack skills

And to people who say striker is original = lol @ you , I play at kms and had a striker as a bless mule before the revamp so the day the revamp came out I could play it at full force , and let me tell you ,you're blind if you don't see the DB similarities
It's funny because you think buccs are original.

6 hit skills was the bandits trade mark ~ We get a 6 hit skill, real original eh?

post mutiny we get spiral punch, more or less looks like a recolored tornado spin from DBS, we can do crock screw into spiral just like dbs can do that moving slash move into tornado, that isn't original...

Post mutiny we get energy blast, a move mechanics and cannon shooters ALREADY HAVE, the originality is crazy.
Post red, we got a recolored generic looking flash jump skill, never seen that before.

So lol if you think buccs are special, you are blind if can't see the similarties between DBs and mechanics/Cannon shooters

This class = Energy blast spam and lame mobility, even post RED flash jump doesn't really cut, it's the most basics of movement skills and we are the last ones to get it. Any class post the Mercedes/Demon Slayer/CS release doesn't even climb ladders anymore, we are still behind.

Only thing that can save this class now is an amazing 5th job.
