If you aren't into lyrics hip-hop is the last thing you want to listen to because that's what it focuses on. They are literally websites devoted to breaking down and deciphering lyrics.

Also i don't listen to "underground" rap. Most of the music i listen too comes from. http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/ but even on the website there is a bunch of songs i don't even like, why? Because there are so many different types of rappers, with their own style and way of expressing themselves. But that is what makes the genre beautiful.

Obviously since 100% of what you listen to comes from the radio your opinion is going to be biased. Especially since they play 10 songs 24/7 like i said earlier.... the radio plays

If that's all I was hearing from this genre i would think hip-hop sucks too. However, the radio tends to appeal to the ignorant so i'm not shocked at your opinion. Just at least explore the genre before you jump to inaccurate conclusions.

I wouldn't classify myself as a fan of hip hop though because the only hip-hop I've listened to is Fort Minor.

Look, music is up to anyone's opinions and personal taste. Its like walking into the middle of a A Day To Remember Concert and wondering why they don't like Justin beiber and vise versa, its simply not there taste in music.

I don't hate the genre, I hate the hip hop music that is popular nowadays.

1. It makes my ears bleed >.<
2. It was written after 1900
3. It's not classical

Hip-Hop can be simplistic with generic party, booty shaking lyrics, it can be up beat and up lifting, inspiring, and it can really make you think and reflect on life. Hell it sometimes can make you cry. You just have to be smart enough to actual listen to the lyrics, idiots can't comprehend it, not calling you an idiot but...

and i'm not talking about all hip-hop, different songs for different moods. They is obviously "trashy" hip-hop but that type of hip-hop has it's place as well.
