Fake Mapestory Families
I have seen the... re surfacing of players calling each other mom/dad ect. Seriously this is creepy as hell, yeah its a role playing but that's kinda weird my ninja.
On a scale of 1-10, how creepy do you think this is.

I call one of my friend "mom" because she's older than me by a few years, but it's not all that serious or anything, just occasionally lol
Okay...
Daughter
Well I used to have a family in maple (Jrs and Srs, etc). The family has since disbanded for obvious reasons (its been a really long time since much of the family has logged on).
I used to call my 2 jrs my "sons". And I called their jrs my "grandson/granddaughter". I was a jr of someone else myself and I had a "sister" jr on my level. I had "dad" and "gramps" above me. It's all just fun roleplay. It's not harmful and there's nothing wrong with it. It's just for fun. You know...the reason you came to play this game? for fun? I mean this is an MMORPG after all and none of you are epic sword wielding, magic using heroes in real life, right? So what does it matter if people role play a family for fun? Back then when I had a maple family, we were pretty much like a family anyways. Helping each other out, being good listeners, giving advice on life, cheering people up. That idea of an "ideal family" also exists in a successful guild. People just don't try to be as friendly as they used to be back then, because they just want to play the game and go solo.
If you don't like roleplay, I don't really understand how the heck you're playing this game. Roleplay is in the description of the genre lol.
I called a friend of mine mom because everybody called her that.. and i just forgot her name so i called her that to prevent awkward situations o.o
And since i know her name again I call her by her real name.

I'm probably the only one who got this reference, haha. Ding ding ding.

I have a pretty huge maple family
<3 wuv my famiry
5. Just weird.
However... I'm one of the oldest people in my guild and older than everyone in my buddy list. Kinda stings when someone calls you grandma.
@CherryTigers I see you comment all the time, I don't like you. Also to the parenting thing, that's weird they need to act mature and not a play a game meant for teenagers, honestly i'd rather play with my friends then my mom o.o
Edge is the father of Windia
I'd say 5. I mean sometimes it's fun (I've been in a 'family' before) but some people just take it to another level... I had someone tell me that they didn't know what to do because they kind of liked their 'uncle'. What the fruit, it's not like he's your actual uncle- go and get that pixel boy (unless you're talking about your real life uncle).
Really depends on the age. If it's a bunch of little kids, it's not bad. If you're 16+ that's pretty bad
If it's a 23 year old guy calling a 15 year old girl Mom, which I've seen before... lol
hi mommy
0, it's an RPG
That's... quite creepy. Hah.
If it's a situation like he said, 9/10.
Otherwise, if it's a very small age gap and they are just kidding around, probably like a 1. It's all for giggles.
ITS YOU!
10, surprised no one brought this up.
It was popular in Henesys a few years ago, people would have their circle and everyone would play a role as a family member. I haven't seen much of that happening ever since the family system came out though.
If it's normal families playing with their children then I don't mind.
10.
Why though?
Okay, cuz. I'll tell dad you said hi.

Mostly it's people joking around, nothing too serious.
It's an asian thing, my friends do it to each other all the time (irl too)
6. Some girl was following me around calling me Daddy.
0. end of convo
10/10 gives me maximum cringe.
Did you just call me a ninja?
2/10. I don't really see that anymore in GAZED, or maybe because I'm not in those type of guilds or chat with people in Henesys.

it's normal to me lolz
10. I knew a guy who had two "daughters" and gave them allowances and it was just really weird to me.
If it's an actual family playing together, I don't care.
They're being children. Playing house on maple.
It's a normal thing I guess. If you're like 11.
What if "families" are exactly what our community has been missing. (*Insert conspiracy Keanu)

I know parents who maple with their children. Coolest adults ever. These are the true parents who truly bond with their parents. Their parent-child connection is so strong they can talk about anything and they have almost 0 problems in their household.
