Yeah. If you accidently tele into 190+ zones (like to Mech graveyard through pantheon), the game kicks you out to the nearest town (Edel).
@suryoyo: The maps are locked down tight. I tried multiple ways to get to Twilight Perion before being level range, but nothing normal works. I'd assume the same for Gate to the Future in general.

Yeah, just go level, you'll get there soon enough. Do Horntail/Chaos if you can manage everyday, and DIPQ as often as your sanity allows it.
And if you're that lazy, you can also try guild transport or something.
