I love love love chopped+processed vocals! They can be used for so many different things, like adding some interesting percussive sounds (IM does this a lot) or even used as another instrument like you mentioned.

Voice in music is an instrument, just like any other. Sure, you can stay vanilla. It would be like using a grand piano instead of an electric one. And natural instruments have a different quality to them, but likewise, electronic instruments also have different qualities. Don't try to appreciate it as a natural voice, appreciate it as a synthetic voice and listen to the unique qualities it gets for being digital. It would be like listening to an electric guitar and complaining that it doesn't sound like an acoustic one, of course it doesn't sound acoustic, that's the point.

It's EDM, anything that's EDM sounds like trash

I think its very annoying. I hate it when the songs randomly include them too. Like "Oh this song is pretty good!" then suddenly a random voice just ruins it all and says some random word in some weird electronic voice.

People still listen to EDM nowadays? I thought that fad was over in 2013
