Why does Nyc Mta make me want to rage quit
there are more than 9 million people in this city
A goddamn ride is 2.50 EACH WAY
where the hell is all our money going?
I'm getting sick of the U.S., namely NYC- our infrastructure makes me cringe more each year and instead of making changes that create tangible differences and efficiency, these 237;647ers just jack up prices and do absolutely nothing
For a culture so obsessed with time we sure are pathetic
We need less monopolies and more competition- there should be more than one stupid company running our entire transportation system
Oh and don't even get me started with the following:
the train is being delayed momentarily due to a sick passenger...
THIS MAKES NO FREAKING SENSE. GET THE PASSENGER OFF THE TRAIN. MOVE THE TRAIN. GET SAID PASSENGER HELP.
Okay sorry guys and gals I'm seething right now because delays made me miss my train home and now I'm stuck for 4 hours until the next train
Dear NYC- please learn from leading cities like London and Tokyo and get your Twydifrb chit together
/endrant
Feel free to rant about your transportation woes as well

Bike/Ebike to work.
brb, YRT/Viva: $4.75 one way and the machines make you pay $5
brb. TTC $3.00
Obviously the higher prices are going to secret projects involving extraterrestrial intelligence and technology.
@TehRaygunicorn: son i commute everyday via mta and am well aware of the congestion, "poor efficiency", and piss-smelling carts; and as a fellow commuter u should expect nothing more than a $2.50 ride
people lose jobs and work efficiency bc of the system? yea bc the delayed MTA is no excuse and should be expected - im sure youre familiar with the 20 min early rule
it's an expensive city, so you best rack out that $$ and pay for an Uber or put up with the "horrible MTA" or better yet get a citi bike
$3.00 for TTC.
@fakestories $2.50 isn't necessarily cheap and this isn't generally about leisurely travel (because what else is at the tippy top of Manhattan besides the cloisters)
Trains are consistently congested, never efficient, and they smell like piss
Japan and London cover just as much space and more than we do, and they are infinitely more efficient and making consistent improvements across the board
I wouldn't mind paying more if this city did something that worked but quite simply, they won't
If you were a commuting worker- you'd understand
People lose jobs and work efficiency because of the transportation system in NYC. Ain't nobody got time for that
youre complaining about a $2.50 subway ride that can get you from the top of manhattan to the eastern tip of queens only 30-40 min later than a car
a $2.50 subway ride that covers literally 5 boroughs of nyc
ur pissed because a $2.50 subway ride that caters over to 8mil people daily is "delayed due to a sick passenger"?
really
move
@ritopls
Sometimes I space out and it probably looks like I'm hardcore staring
Of course it tends to be an attractive woman 90% of the time
Yay
It just really makes me upset how we are a culture obsessed with being on time but we don't even have the resources to make that physically, reliably possible lmao
@TehRaygunicorn: I like the LIRR because I always sit next to a random person and get to know him.
You can't do that on a city train without the fear of getting stabbed, so I just stare at the MILFs when I'm on one of those.
But yes, I live right next to the last stop on the R train in Brooklyn. Sometimes I wait legit 50 minutes for an R train when it's late.
@ritopls srsly
Once I was on the MNR and they stopped for two hours. They handed us emergency water and of course didn't tell us what the hell was going on
Also who takes buses in the city- oh wait they suck beyond belief as well
Ugh
LIRR ftw.
28 minute delay on the train from Port Jeff to Jamaica yesterday.
LIRR ftw.
