What makes Dark Knights Unique and Fun?
Hey guys,
Ive been wondering about this class for like 2 months now and ive really wanted to make one but ive been busy with the limited amount of time i get to play, my battle mage, and the tempest coins. So i just wanted to know what this class is like to play as and whether or not you think i would enjoy it. I personally love to play as classes with a large variety of skills to use(not just attacking summons and etc included), classes that are rare, classes that arent amazing fresh off the shelf, and classes that wont take me forever to get 4th job. For example, my bowmaster is my favorite class because of their mobility, rarity, summons, and survivability(attributed to puppet i rarely die). I like my battle mage and aran because of their in-battle maneuverability, quick succession of skills, variety and the skill it takes to control them to their full potential. So based on those qualities i ask whether you think i would enjoy the class. Thank you!

Such as this one time, when a police officer came came to our door to ask some questions since our neighbor's truck got broken into. During the questioning, I hinted at having an alibi in order to clear myself of suspicion, despite the fact that we're good friends with said neighbor and that I had nothing to do with the crime. I didn't even know about it until my mom told me our neighbor told her... I'm doing it again.
That puts a new perspective on once-in-a-lifetime events and really reduces their romanticism.
Hmn, your own death is a once-in-a-lifetime experience...
I think I've heard that concept before...
But a water ride through the digestive system does sound kind of fun, provided there isn't any hydrochloric acid, to-scale bacteria, or any other possible unpleasantry from an actual digestive system. Just water, plastic, metal, paint, and other necessary components of a water slide.
That was horrifying, thrilling, and hilarious all at the same time. o.o

It is a stretch when you think about it, but my mind contorts things and comes up with the strangest relations, so stuff like this pops up.
My thought process at the time was more akin to primal instinct rather than linguistic acuity. That is, my brain processed it in an emotional way rather than paying attention to the precise wording. Or you could say I was thinking with my genitals rather than my brain. =_=

And roar. and a bunch of stuff.[/quote]I don't really view the Dark Knight branch significantly as any more or less fundamentally different than it used to be when compared to any other. Assassins still chuck throwing stars, Clerics still heal and buff, FLIP mages and Paladins still use their elemental skills, Marksmen are still ranged mobbers, etc.
And arguably, Dark Knights have already been "screwed up". When 4th job and Berserk came, it drastically altered our relationship with the Cleric branch (at least, for 4th job), but it was an exciting challenge. Then Big Bang took that away and altered our identity again. Then they took our 1/1 + Seduce survivability and replaced it with an ugly one-attack-fits-all and made Crusher/Buster virtually useless. The only thing the same about Dragon Roar is that it's a full screen attack that can hit 15 monsters, and its animation. Instead of us being stunned for a few seconds, we have a chance of stunning monsters and there's a cool down, and it doesn't take away nearly as much HP as it used to (the little it does take gets restored thanks to Wisdom anyway).
I'm not trying to get down on the class, I still love it, it's still my class, but I just don't see that we've changed any more or less than any other class.

@lionheart365: I'd say bowmen are closer to their original function. Unless you meant Dragon Knight specifically and not Dark Knight.

You mean the only class where some skills require a spear (or a polearm)? Because some buffs and magic attacks can still be used with a spear.

Fun? IMO they are
i felt the same way when i started the long journey to make my ua drk. needless to say 2 weeks later at level 130 i got extremely bored
he is my prettiest character though. so i use him to afk in the fm with my shop

Drk imo are so boring. Nothing really unique about them.

Depends on your threshold for unique. I mean nothing that makes them mechanically different than any other class in a major way but they have somewhat unique aesthetics which I personally enjoy.
Oh actually they are the only class in the game that can use spears with their skills. So that's..... something?
