What did you do as a child, then?
Just convert whatever you did into a "toy" and write about it... i.e. if you liked to draw just write about your drawing pad.

Just lie. It's not hard and it doesn't really matter. I'm pretty sure the point of the assignment isn't really what your favorite toy was, but instead your proficiency with the language.
I think a handheld video game system counts
Pretend you like legos, pokemon cards, gameboy advance, or barbies.
Just make something up?
