So overall, whats the best weapon for a Pally to use? I'm stuck on what to use. Also if it makes a difference I'm not very funded.

just find a decent shield thats all
The secondary acts as a shield so you get the passive skill whilst wielding the 2-handed weapon.
I prefer to use 1h sword/mace with a shield due to the shield passive...40%guard pretty decent but if you're unfunded and want to deal damage stick with 2h
unfunded paladins should use a 2 handed weapon and a secondary weapon. more power for less cost.
If you only care about power, get the strongest weapon you can afford (maces might be cheaper than swords). If you have a weapon preference (IE: I like swords), then find the best one you can.
Unless you can get your hands on a 27 att VIP shield...that'd be the best option imo. However, those are unattainable now. The few players who still have theirs aren't gonna sell em anytime soon lolz.
For endgame players, the current best main weapon and secondary weapon for a Paladin is a Fafnir Mistilteinn and Terminus Defender.
2H is the better option for you. However, if you were funded enough to hit the damage cap, then 1H would be best.
