Second Chances? What is the reason behind this?

Many have benefited from from this and many of you probably heard of this.
However this may sound, sugarcoated with 'maplepoints' and 'unban', way they put it makes me so skeptical about it.
1. This isn't even about giving unban to people wrongfully banned
"wanted to give a number of players a second chance"
2. Doesn't this jeopardize rest of the maple community, releasing back these accounts?
"so hopefully some of these players will take this opportunity to positively contribute to the great community"
HOPEFULLY? You gotta be kidding me. You HOPE these previously banned people would contribute?
3. They aren't being clear whatsoever who this is benefiting, its just... some players. Also randomly telling you some will be awarded with maplepoints.
Just distracting you away from the fact that some banned players are coming back.
Nexon what is the point of this? Does this make the game better at all?
Makes me just wonder if this is a way to get some players back... Conveniently the number of players in MS has been all time low.
What do you guys think of this?
