Do I have a Virus

Fellow basilers, I request the techy ones to answer my question.
MapleStory has been shutting down by itself sometimes when I play, and this blue error screen comes up right after. It tells me the system has failed due to a critical error from a certain file.

This has only started happening recently, and the blue message screen tells me to restart my computer. Once I am done rebooting, a message pops up saying, "The system has recovered from a critical error."

First of all, how do I fix this if it isn't a virus, and if it is, should I system restore or attempt to rid it from my computer?

Never do a System Restore if you suspect a virus. System Restore will not remove the virus from the computer, it will stay on your hard drive and possibly reinfect it even if the System Restore appears at first to have "fixed" things.

Always scan with an anti-virus scanner if you suspect a virus infection. You should be scanning the computer regularly anyway to be sure it's safe, but if you suspect something isn't right scan it to see if there's a new infection causing the problem.

Also, the information on the blue screen is important for diagnosing exactly what is causing the problem. The name of the file that's reported to be causing the problem is important, and any time there's a "STOP 0x00000000(0x00000000,0x00000000... ) display it's important to copy down the number after the "STOP" because that can help indicate the reason for the error.

With that said, Jazzman180 is probably right in this case. Maplestory has been causing a lot of problems lately for a lot of people.
Do you get the Blue Screen error page any other time, or just when playing MapleStory?

It appears quite a few people are having this issue with maple. Do feel as if you computer has been running slower than usual?
